C'mon man, stop thinking like a little boy. Harden was gonna sign an extension either way. He will sign a new extension with the new CBA rule changes, next season. MDA wasn't Morey' pick. It was Leslie'. Plus, MDA as a Coach, speak for itself. It isn't like Morey found a gem of an Assistant Coach and he turned out to be on the verge of Coach of the Year.....like a Steve Kerr. And the 3rd place is great. Credit goes to Harden and D'Antoni system and moving Harden to the PG. MDA had this same success with the Suns so, that was expected or at least a strong possibility espeically with Harden totally buying in to D'Antoni system. I think they fit like a glove with each others. Thank Leslie for that, though. As far as how GMs operate, you should read more news on GMs and get a clue. I know it sounds boring and outside of basketball itself but they give a wealth of knowledge how trades gets done. Its like a scene out of Congress. When you read tweets on officials with respective teams, and they say stuff like, "He's asking for too much, and he's not gonna get that".....these officials remain anonymous and don't want to put their name out there but thats a glimspe into the tone and atmosphere these GMs operate in. Its like a scene outta of Congress. Some GMs play dirty by blocking a teams from getting a marquee player simply because of jealousy issues. Some try to call in to the Comissioner and make a complaint on said GMs in how he got any number of a marquee asset, and want a rule change inserted to stop it since they can't benefit from it. Its a jungle behind the scene, and when you read enough into those things, you get a general idea what's going on. Right now, Morey is in a hard place. He got assets nobody wants, to be honest. Mark my word, if there is a trade before the trade deadline, its gonna go two ways: 1. Its gonna be a small acquisition like Jarret Jack or a swap between non-rotation players. 2. A 3-team trade if it involves a marquee player. Its gonna be 1. or 2. I gaurantee it! (....and I'm not Codman. I'm just "me.")
If the implication is a HOU/NY/MIL deal, you have to believe there's another large market team involved. There's no chance Melo is waiving his no-trade clause to end up in freaking Milwaukee.
The comment I made was in reference to us playing the facilitator role. All I'm saying is if that's the case, you have to believe a 4th team (or a 3rd party other than Milwaukee) is involved if you intend on getting Melo to waive his no-trade clause.

Gotcha. I'm actually on the opposite side of the Melo idea. Personally, I think it's too risky at this point in his career but I do understand the appeal. You need stars to win and he's one of the biggest names out there.
That can't be true. Melo wouldn't play for the Rockets. Don't make too much of that meeting we had with him during his free agency. He was never coming to the Rockets.
Not sure Greg Monroe would help us, I mean Monroe is a solid player but he's not a defensive big man nor a great rebounder. He's also not a deadly scorer, 53% from a big man who plays in the post and doesn't shoot the 3 is just bad. Monroe would benefit being a traditional PF next to a guy like Whiteside and 3 pt shooters in a half court offense, unfortunately that's not us. In Rockets offense both Capela and Harrell give you more than Monroe at a fraction of the cost.
