He's a better than avg defender. He can hold his own against the Whitesides/Gasols of the world. Not so much against the KAT's/Boogies/Horford's. We are badly missing his rebounding. Last night was embarrassing.
I was gonna say I heard we were also interested in Gallo. What about Sefolosha or Brook Lopez or could we get in on Noel or Ohkafor too?
Malik Beasley is a badddd mofo, too! But he's their future. I wish they would trade us him. If we can get him, that would be cool as "F"!
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I want Jared Dudley on this team. If only Phoenix would just give up and start building around Booker like they'll inevitably need to do...This is also assuming Sacramento gives up a pick to get Bledsoe which they'd do I'm pretty sure.
KJ has a team option so they can take a look at him and cut him if they don't want him. Collison is an expiring and Gay not only has a player option he may exercise like Wesley Matthews did but if he doesn't he'll be a big expiring contract they can use to move later. As for Sacramento...they're the only team desperate enough for a wing to take Brewer off our hands and Bledsoe would be a perfect get for them talent wise, position wise, and to help keep Cousins happy since they have history. Jared Dudley is a solid enough defender that plays smart team ball. Can be a locker room presence and is one of the very top 3 point shooters in the league. All we'd have to give up is KJ and Brewer...
I think any team that adds Brewer will decrease their projected wins, which is also why we're not going to have an easy time dealing him.
Gallo and Chandler did play for MDA when he coached the Knicks. Not sure about the Nuggets asking price, but it makes sense that Morey is interested.
Appreciate the info, cyberx. For me, it's a hard pass on Wilson Chandler. This feels like a desperation move. His contract runs well beyond this season so this severely hampers your ability to be a player in free agency this summer. All for a guy who's +/- data is not good, a career 34% shooter from downtown and is currently giving the Nuggets 15 points on 13 shots. This reeks of making a move just for the sake of making a move. Not DM's style at all. Gallinari is the much better player and more logical target. He's most likely going to exercise his player option so worst case scenario he's a rental player. Best case scenario is you trade for him, find out he's a phenomenal fit and sign him long-term. We at least have the option of wiping our hands clean if it doesn't work out.
I think Dudley would shine brighter in this system. Same one where he played the best of his career. Would be most accurate 3 pt shooter on the team. Defense not too great doesnt address rebounding, but he'd put the ball through the net more efficiently than Chandler. While still backing up multiple positions Hold on to Brewer this year and next for $8 mil, or Dudley the opposite in shot making an extra year at $10 mil? There are bigger prizes out there, but if there was NOTHING else left I'd probably bring Dudley in. Gonna trust Morey can fetch more though
I'd love to have Tucker on the Rockets too. I highly doubt we can swap Brewer and picks for him. KJ and a high second might do it, but it sounds like they are asking a 1st.
