it's only bcoz Boogy loves to wait for 3. if he'd prefer scoring in paint then Sac would also own us.
Me not believing in your favorites like Thong Maker and Josh Harrellson being better than him at this point doesn't mean I changed my opinion on Capela. I have always maintained Capela and Rhyno are bench players being forced to start here. Just like I don't disagree with the notion that Rockets and Harden could do with another playmaker. I just disagree with your emphasis on Rubio being that playmaker to move Harden completely off the ball and relegate him to a secondary playmaker.
LOL. You had Capela as untouchable 14 months ago. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php...touchables-on-this-team.271461/#post-10220187
Dumbass, times change. Dwight was our locked in starting C. Capela was one of the better back up C's at the time on a value contract. Of course he would be untouchable. He still is one of the better back up C's just pigeonholed to start here.
Despite having the 4th best record in the league, what are our odds to winning a championship this year? Really, really slim. Sorry, we're not a piece or two away from a title. We still need a 2nd star. I'm totally for Morey standing pat unless he can make a move that helps us now AND for the future.
The Heat had a good game plan and after beating the Rockets twice convincingly you can bet other teams will watch the tape and copy what they did. Any team with a 7 footer/shot blocker will do what they did last night which is: 1) Take away the 3 pt shot from everyone who can shoot it (except Harden). They will look to drive, so lead them to our big but just slow their drive down so he can help in time. Our players suck at passing outside of Harden, our only playmaker. They are either too short and/or bad at ballhandling to be quick enough to find the open man. When you have to focus too much on handling the ball you lose focus on everything else that's happening on the court (that big coming to swat your shot, and the man he is helping off) 2) Make Harden take shots from 18 foot out, try to keep ONLY HIM out of the paint. If he still gets by they do have Whiteside to help, but Harden is good at finding the open man. The amount of times our players got blocked by Whiteside last night is a true disrespect to the game of basketball. He was changing a lot of shots too. AND SOMEBODY PLEASE PUT A BODY ON TYLER JOHNSON. They sagged off him so much he would just stroll right in and grab the board every time because he knew when his players were gonna shoot. These are the plays that crush team's spirits.
If you look at the stats, it's essentially identical to how they played last year, Harden goes off, plays 40+ minutes with absolutely no help from anyone, especially the bench. This can't continue. Also, how useless are the small forwards on this team. Ariza can't play defense as well as he used to, he can't shoot either. Brewer is.... Brewer, and Dekker can sometimes help but he hasn't really been as effective as he was in December.
I believe it's primarily the fact that other teams have figured us out. ANY team with a good rim protector knows to vigorously defend the 3pt line and prevent any good looks. We don't take midrange jumpers, so driving is our only and 2nd option. When you have a flyswatter like Whiteside in the middle that also neutralizes the lane. Game, set, match James needs to realize that attacking their big and getting them in foul trouble is our best option. Have to go right at him and try to get whistles. Paste some fouls on him and get him on the bench. But, we haven't been doing that as much. We just try to shoot our way out of the trap and it's ugly sometimes
NOT correct. The Heat have waken up and have become a dangerous team Since Jan 17th (over the past month) they are 14-2 True it was against the East and not even top teams. But they beat us 2X during that span. But the Rockets can't pretend to even post that sort of record anymore. We're going the opposite direction. The Heat are also currently just 2 games out of the playoff picture with 1/2 the season still to go. I wouldn't count them out at all
I think its mostly because everyone else on the kings sucks so we can focus on guarding boogie. But u might be right.
We generally lose to a team that can protect the paint. It takes away 50% of our offense when we can't get layups. That's the problem with Moreyball, our offense only has two dimensions.
I just came in here to say WHAT THE HELL IS BREWER DOING ON THE COURT???? THE DUDE IS LITERALLY NO CONTRIBUTION AT ALL. Id rather have Jack Brown out there. < Who is that? I dont even know but I bet some random dude with that name would be better than this dude. Come the F on Rockets. How on earth does he keep getting playing time?
I wouldn't say there's any specific problem (though Brewer should obviously not get minutes). Every player outside of Harden, Beverley, and Nene has regressed from December, especially Gordon and Ariza. We're currently not that much better than last year's team because of it.
Imagine Trevor Ariza and Corey Brewer out of the team. Now imagine Gordon Hayward and Omri Cassppi as the replacements of Trevor Ariza and Corey Brewer. Do you think the Rockets would have lost to Miami last night? Even if they did lost it wouldn't have been as bad as last night. Trevor Ariza and Corey Brewer are the main problem for the bad losses. Both of them are mediocre and inconsistent.
Some around think we should only lose games to GSW and SAS. A better record than an opposing team doesn't mean you should be expected to beat them every time you play them. That said, we do have team weaknesses. Some opposing teams exploit them better than others. But keep in mind, we are 40-18 because most nights, we exploit the other teams weaknesses.
The Rockets are 9-9 since their streak ended. If we still looked like the team that got us a 31-9 record I would not be saying much. But we do look like a 500 team. I just hope Eric Gordon starts shooting straight because he is the motor for our bench. He helps Harden when he's on the floor and he is the Rockets bench.
