I am curious if Trump is enjoying himself. Every president ages dramatically in office. He will end up being a big bag of wrinkled mush by the time his term is up. He seems fairly overweight also I could see heart problems from the pressure.

If he were to somehow get elected to a second term... I just don't see him making it.

And don't forget he only gets about 3 hours sleep per night, a stroke is a real possibility if he doesn't start taking better care of himself.

You know, I like Rand Paul, but he said tonight something like, "Republicans shouldn't be investigating Republicans." Umm, yes, Mr. Paul, of course they should if the situation warrants it. I would have no problem saying the same for Obama and Clinton (truth be told, I really struggle with Clinton - I think he did a fairly good job as President, but, man, all the affairs and ****? It just makes me think much less of him. I know it's his private life, but still...- I know, I'm a prude).

Well, I think now that Flynn has stepped down, there's no point in spending the money investigating further given that what he most likely did wrong, a Logan Act violation, has literally never been successfully prosecuted.....and they have only tried to prosecute one time ever since it's been a law. I think there's a solid case that this instance doesn't warrant further investigation now that he's out of office and there's zero chance you'd ever successfully prosecute the case anyway. If he refused to step down, then that would be different.

The silence from our alt-right friends (save BobbytheBubbleboy) is deafening. Even they know this is trouble.

Trump's campaign and even some of his non-campaign associates has contacts with Russian intelligence before the election?????

That's damning. Absolutely damning and treasonous. That alone should be grounds for not just an investigation, but if true immediate impeachment before he can seize power and do more damage. Who knows what intel they could be providing Russia. Who knows how much the Kremlin has Trump under their thumb.

    This is alt-reality insane.

    Saw this post on FB:

What is Russia's number 1 export? Fossil fuels (Oil and Coal)
Who is Trump's Secretary of State? Rex Tillerson
Where did Tillerson come from? Exxon Mobile
Who gave Tillerson a partnership award? Vladimir Putin
Who secretly spent billions for a 20% share in Russia's largest oil company and is hiding their identity in a Caman Islands? Could it be Exxon Mobile??
Who governs the Caman islands? Britain
Who was one of the first foreign officials Trump met with? Uber conservative British prime minister Theresa May
To whom has Trump pledged unwavering support? Japan
Who is the largest importer of fossil fuels outside of china? Japan
Where does Japan rely for fossil fuels? The Middle East
Who is Trump at war with? The Middle East.
Who would generate billions from selling fossil fuels to Japan? Exxon mobile
Who wanted to sell oil to Taiwan? Donald Trump
Who slapped him in the face for trying to develop business relations with Taiwan? China
Who has Trump trashed throughout his campaign? China
Why has he trashed China? Because they get oil from Saudi Arabia and don't pay Russia enough for oil.
Who is deregulating the fossil fuel industry? Donald Trump
Who allowed the Dakota pipeline to proceed? Donald Trump.
Who secretly promised to relieve Obama's sanctions against Russia? Mike Flynn
Who wants Flynn's fall to be a "trust" issue? Donald Trump
Why does trump want this to be a "trust" issue? Because a legal issue means an investigation which may reveal secret oil deals in place with Russia
What does this add up to?
Donald Trump and Rex Tillerson, representing Exxon Mobile, have a fossil fuel deal in place worth billions in personal kickbacks and currently there are business deals led by Trump and Tillerson being negotiated to sell Russia's oil in the US, Japan, and Europe.
Who owns this president? Exxon mobil
    The end.

    What the...

The WH VP people in revolt?

I still don't get what Trump was waiting for -- why did he wait until it was public knowledge to do something? If there was a risk that Flynn was compromised, would you leave him in that position? At minimum, that's a serious lack of judgement. No wonder intel agencies held back on secrets to this WH.

Trump reportedly kept Pence in dark about Flynn's Russian phone calls

Trump, after learning about the phone calls, kept Vice President Pence in the dark about Flynn’s conversations with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, the Associated Press reported Tuesday, citing White House officials.

Pence and other officials emphatically defended Flynn in the weeks leading up to his resignation.

“They did not discuss anything having to do with the United States’ decision to expel diplomats or impose censure against Russia,” Pence said in a televised interview with CBS News last month.

I have said it before - the Logan Act doesn't really matter here.

What matter most at this point is, was Flynn compromised? That has to be answered. If he was, to what level was he compromised and if any secrets was passed on? As the head of the NSC, he had plenty of access. This would be a huge breach of security if he was. Not something you leave open. Need to be answered and closed. Only way to do that correctly is with a full independent investigation.

As a side, Trump is tainted. There is really no way to rid of that. Eventually, there need to be closure and answers.

The best part about this is we have some great reporting going on and seems like plenty of people willing to spill the beans on ol leatherface so we'll get the full story in no time.

Flynn may have committed treason - to undermine a sitting President's sanctions against a geopolitical adversary?

He didn't betray Obama, he betrayed the USA.

Always considered myself a Republican, but I can't in good conscience support any party that nominates such an unqualified buffoon for President. Especially since he was actually elected.... Seriously, this all seems like a twilight zone episode. I literally can not BELIEVE that Donald freakin' Trump is actually the President of the United States. This is just insanity.

Maybe after he is inevitably impeached I will reassess, but as of right now, I am a man without a party.

Here's what I've been perpetually doing since November:

There have been no allegations that he passed on secrets to the Russians, and if he was compromised....does it matter now that he's no longer in office? Just be honest, you are hoping for a witch hunt here that will lead to things blowing back on Trump. I get it, given the political climate, it makes sense. That said, you can't expect Republicans to want to waste money on that type of thing when there's really no reason to besides politics.

Right now the only allegation is that the Russians had blackmail on Flynn and that he likely violated the Logan Act along with lying to many inside the administration about it. If you aren't going to prosecute the Logan Act violation, and there's not much reason to given that it's never been successfully prosecuted before, having him disgraced and forced to resign is the appropriate action.

I completely understand and I'm in the same boat. It was bad enough that we just got done having 8 years of an unqualified buffoon as president, now we're stuck with at least 4 more due to the Republicans even allowing Trump to run for their nomination. It seems like being an "unqualified buffoon" is almost a prerequisite to being president at this point.

I know you disagree with Obama, but he is far from unqualified.

Harvard Law degree, Senator. Not exactly fitting the bill of unqualified

That makes him qualified to be a lawyer or teach law and it makes him qualified to be in a legislative role......having 0 executive experience makes him unqualified for an executive position. In fact, Trump is more qualified to hold an executive position than Obama was. There's no question that Obama and Trump were both unqualified to be president, IMO they are both buffoons as well.

This political season has been polarizing everyone. People are having a harder time taking the middle road and are being forced to pick a side.

That might be narrowly true. But if we, as a bunch of nobodies, can connect the dots that something suspicious is going on with Trump and Russia, Pence would know ten times as much even if he's not in Trump's inner circle. My concern with a Trump impeachment and a President Pence is not some nightmare scenario of a Christian conservative agenda, it's that Pence is also compromised. Because he knew and he played his role in trying to obfuscate the truth. Colin Powell will always be besmirched by his choice to surrender his integrity to Bush's war, and Pence will too for this Russia business.

Bobby, you're in a position of being the Bellwether here. Until you're convinced Trump should step down or be impeached, it'll just be noise. When you're convinced, the GOP Congress will be convinced.
