One of the three leading candidates to replace Flynn is General David Petraeus?

PUTIN STARTING TO WONDER IF HIS PUPPETS ARE SMART ENOUGH TO PULL THIS OFF

Russian President Vladimir Putin is “starting to get concerned” that the puppets he installed in the executive branch of the U.S. government “might not be up to the task at hand,” sources confirmed on Tuesday.

According to the sources, the flameout of the national-security adviser Michael Flynn was only the most recent event that has caused Putin to wonder if the figureheads he propelled into office are “just too dim-witted” to serve the goals of the Russian Federation.

“When you choose a puppet, you’re looking for a sweet spot,” one source close to Putin said. “You want to choose someone who’s dumb enough to be manipulated, but not so dumb that he can’t find the light switches.”

“Increasingly, it looks like we missed that sweet spot,” the source said.

Putin is reportedly willing to have a “wait and see” attitude with his current puppets, but, if things do not improve markedly, he will not hesitate to “make some changes,” the source said.

“President Putin knew that this bunch didn’t have a lot of experience in government and that there were bound to be some growing pains,” the source said. “But geez.”

The establishment conservatives can't put the djinn back into the bottle. Look at what happened to all those politicians who refused to endorse trump and later caved from the heckling and abuse from their constituents (Ryan is now a moderate...wtf)

    As for their three wishes:
    No Hillary
Scotus seats (the younger and certifiably crazier...uhh authenticer, the better)
    Regressive tax breaks.

I shed liberal tears for the Connies

And yet you're the one using childish tactics like name calling every time someone calls you on your crap.

As a Democrat, I have to say that you are welcome to the GOP and you won't be missed. Enjoy yourself while the country contends with an out of control Republican President.

I don't recall seeing you down here before. Welcome!

Thanks because I have more important things to do than stay angry and on a constant witch hunt.

If we're honest, both parties are locked in a never ending struggle to be the absolute worst. To me, neither party is appealing at all. Sure the elephant party is a bit more grown up than the jackass party...but they are both awful. The only thing worse then them are their party loyal kids like Deckard who will convince himself of his party's inherent superiority and will block out anyone that disagrees so that he can feel like it's the popular opinion.

I can tell you that I am not angry. I am not on a "witch hunt." I have a feeling that I am considerably older than you, so bear with me for a moment. I've seen this happen before. Not seeing a loose cannon and arguably mentally unstable President in Donald Trump, but seeing a President fire those who disagree with him, attack the media, blatantly lie to the American public, and more.

The late Richard Nixon, like Trump, did those things, but there is a huge difference. Unlike Trump, Nixon was a highly intelligent man. He wasn't given a rich lifestyle by his family, like Trump was handed. He knew the middle class because he was part of it growing up. A seriously flawed man, but the picture of sanity, compared to Trump. Nixon created what Trump has endlessly attacked and intends to get rid of, if he can, and make toothless if he can't, the Environmental Protection Agency. The nation is a less polluted place, and has more protected species that were on the verge of extinction that are thriving today thanks to a Republican, Mr. Nixon. Nixon is responsible for the opening to China, arguably the "crown jewel" of his foreign policy as president. That intelligent foreign policy has helped to bring hundreds of millions of Chinese citizens out of poverty, and while I have serious problems with their government, I think that's a good thing.

I'm not going to talk at length about Nixon. I voted against the man, but consider this - I have seen presidents come and go from both parties, starting with Eisenhower. I sat in the family den and watched his speech shortly before he left office warning the nation about the dangers of the military–industrial complex. My parents were very politically involved, thank god, so I was able to watch some of the most important speeches from the late '50's and early '60's. In all the years since then, I have never, never, seen a man elected president as unqualified, as over his head, as paranoid, as disconnected with the world, and as uneducated as Donald Trump. I criticized George Bush a hell of a lot here while he was president, but he was a decent governor for Texas, and accomplished some good along with the bad while in office as President, like his efforts to improve the health of poverty stricken Africans, who had been neglected by our foreign policy far too much. I would take George W. Bush over this dangerous and incompetent man, Donald Trump, in a New York minute. That's a hell of a statement coming from me, as those who have read my stuff down here for many years could attest to.

Are you paying serious attention to the news? Do you read numerous sources, watch numerous sources, listen to numerous sources for your news? I do and so should you, assuming you don't (and that's what I'm assuming, based on your posts). It could be a real eye opener for you. Have an open mind. Not all Republicans are extremists, and neither are all Democrats. Not by a long shot. If people are angry, they have good reason to be, which you would know if you followed the news. The only "witch hunt" going on is the witch hunt by the Trump Administration against those who have the gall to disagree with him. On anything.

This is what happens when you want "extreme vetting" for refugees but "no vetting" for your National Security Advisor
