Welp........there's this guy named Ricky Rubio. He's a glue guy. Would take a ton of pressure off Harden. Just say'n.
So funny. I was literally thinking in my head that Jopataholic is like a flipping dog with a chew toy on Rubio and i was about to type reply when I scrolled and saw this. Great minds must think alike LOL
We have 45 pages about Ibaka and he goes to Canada. There must be a lesson in there somewhere. Beats me what that lesson might be.
Nope. I'd be shocked if Morey traded for anyone that isn't a superstar with that kind of money owed to them knowing his history.
Toronto overpaid. Ibaka wasn't going to be the piece that takes us over the hump if it would cost us pieces worth more than Ross and a #24 pick. That's a comparable package to Ariza and our #27 pick and I would NOT trade Ariza and our 1st. Totally pointless. Instead of being abused inside, we would get abused outside. We can still get Ibaka this summer. Great deal for Orlando to salvage two good assets out of a trade that failed pretty badly.
You should be nervous that we're 4 months into the season and we haven't moved Harden off ball with a real playmaker and everything is awful
No kidding. What the hell is Orlando doing? They keep squandering all of their trade assets. They paid more for Ibaka in the offseason than they got via trade today. Same with Tobias Harris, where they got nothing. I also think we can get Ibaka this summer, either straight up through cap space or a S&T for Ryno. He just has to threaten to leave. I'd prefer the latter. Toronto won't want to let him walk for nothing. Anderson is overpaid, but is still a PF that can help them compete in the east. If push comes to shove they will make that trade.
I don't see Toronto giving up Ibaka like that. They're set up pretty nicely for a run in the playoffs. regardless of what happens trading him like that is just unlikely imo
Oh they're not going to give him up. They 100% want to re-sign him, but he's an unrestricted free agent and it's up to him, not them. The Lakers didn't trade for Dwight expecting to let him walk to the Houston in free agency either. We'll have cap space. If a free agent wants to come here, then he's coming.
i get that but regardless Ibaka is going to go through the playoffs as a Raptor this year regardless if the worse happens and he shows he's not going to resign with them which i doubt happens.
IMO now is the time for Morey to strike. Take Lucas 'Bebe' Nogueira. He might face diminished PT. Legit 7footer with the highest block per 36 in the game. Young, learning, growing and Houston is the perfect destination for him. I would also get Caboclo, again just personal preference. He's just a prospect.
