Serge Ibaka traded to Toronto for Terrence Ross and 1st round pick

Everyone joking about Patterson but he would be a great acquisition. We just don't have anything they want and I doubt they trade him since they are trying to push all in.

 

Agreed that I like the deal for Toronto even though I think losing Ross will hurt. They can effectively play Ibaka at the 4 or 5 and they can run a really good "death lineup" (lol) with Lowry, Derozan, Carroll, 2Pat, Ibaka.

 

Yeah, Morey is going to sit on his hands unless there is another superstar player out there to acquire, there may be a small deal out there though, but a big one that gets us a starter...I'd be surprised. I think the better move is to sit on your assets until something bigger and better comes along. Especially if Harden's happy, Les is happy, then there is no pressure to make a move.

 

Well he hasn't gotten a lot of minutes in past couple of weeks actually. Whether its due to injury or falling out of the rotation.

Not sure if I buy that. Did GarPax suddendly wake up in the middle of the season and decided to trade? Most likely it was posturing because "closing up on a trade" when it comes to the Bulls means you talk now and then make a trade 3 years later.

 

Yeah and I think having Ibaka next to val is a good look.

I think the sneakiest part of this was keeping the higher 1st. Seems unessential and overlooked but pay off

 

I wonder if they're going to trade Vala if the acquire Gibson...

toronto will have something nice in the offseason with lowry, derozan, and ibaka, though the depth will be gutted. In the East, so I don't care.

The fact that they were able to include that caveat for a player of Ibaka's caliber, and Orlando still jumped on it tells me everything I need to know about his trade market. Toronto clearly had Orlando by the balls., which is a little shocking.

 

Gibson's trade value imo is a low first. So they would have traded their low first.
Gibson is kinda old, in a slump and also has shoulder issues. And he's expiring so he will need to get paid or leave for nothing.

 

No it won't. Unless LMA, Kawhi, KD or Steph vanishes from the face of the earth

 

Didn't seem like the magic got much for ibaka. The gave up way more for him.
