Parsons' rookie season was the season before Lin and Asik

Morey didn't say that actually. For years he was chasing stars like Chris Bosh and Carmelo Anthony but coming up empty. Les didn't want to ever tank and we were missing out from stars and we were stuck in the cycle of mediocrity. That summer when we signed Lin it was finally conceded that Les was going to try to rebuild the team in a proper way and we brought Lin in to be marketable first but also to have a chance to grow since he was still young. Everyone was predicting the Rockets to finish in the bottom 2 of the Western Conference that year. But of course, right before the season started, Morey pulled off the trade for Harden and that changed everything.

I agree with this. But he did say the Lin and Asik acquisition was the cornerstones for the Rockets. Just before he acquired Harden in a surprised trade right before the season started.

By the way....what's your thoughts on the Rockets signing Anderson to that contract and grooming Dekker as Ariza' replacement and perhabs refusing to trade those assets for Ibaka?

I just want to hear from knowleageable fans and what their take on the direction of the team? Right now, we're sitting 3rd place in the West and this is one of our better years to come since the Yao/McGrady era. But looking ahead, do you like the type of players we're acquiring in the likes of Amderson/Dekker when there are superior talents to be had?

Serious question because I can't tell... are you subtly calling Morey a racist? If you are, you're an idiot. If you're not, you may still be an idiot.

I don't think he didn't star chase, he just knew when to cut his losses and settle.

Anderson does what he was hired to do, he just got overpaid to do it. Dekker is still an unknown as is with most rookies. Dekker shows promises and provides something the team really needs. He has a good sense when to go to the basket for clean up rebounds. It seems that he knows a shot is off and goes in to capitalize on offensive rebounds. His cap is up to him and how hard he works and if he can stay healthy.

Is Dekker going to be a superstar, probably not. Is he going to be worth his salary? He already is.

    Anderson maybe a stop gap
but I definitely see Dekker having a future here - He needs to work on being a SF more than PF . . .

I'd flip Dekker for Wilson Chandler. You gotta have ebbs and flow to your game and a "feel" for your boys. Dekker is sort of a one-pace guy....he's rushing his game at the wrong moments and stalling when he should be "doing."

He's all about trying to get that "flash" appeal to his game when he's aint about that. Nor did he show that in college. Just posturing and acting like he "got it like that."

Off the bench though, he's alright. I just rather have a piece like Wilson Chandler on the squad, behind Ariza for now. And our future will be bright.

Especially if we can get Ibaka too. And some Ben McLemore.

To FLIP anything the other side has to be willing
Would you Flip Dekker and a 1st round draft pick? And maybe KJ?

what you WANT and what your CAN GET are two seperate things
Wishing and pining over someone on someone else's team is BULL

This is the NBA not some fricking Video game.

I'd love to trade Dekkar for LeBron but the sh*t ain't going to happen

You have no idea what calls are being made
and what is being discussed . . .. . until a trade is made you don't sit around
saying "Dekker you good but you know what . . . I'd trade you in a minute fore Wilson Chandler . . . now go win some games for me!"

If you want Wilson Chandler - 1. How much are you willing to give up for him?
You can offer Corey Brewer but the other team probably won't bite.

Everyone can see UPSIDE in players
    but
at the end of the day . . . the Coaches have to coach up some players

I would not Trade Anderson or Dekker for MELO .. . why cause Melo sucks the life out of a team

All good points except the Elephant in the room is Daryl "dorkish" Morey who thinks Dekker is better than W. Chandler. Just like he thought Parsons was better than Marcus Morris.

And just like he thought C. Brewer was better than Troy Daniels. Morey' way of looking at talent is like watching old 1950s sport players and saying,

    "I want guys like that!"

    ......(bummer).

I could see Dekker keep improving. He was thought of as trash last year and made vast improvements. Let him get acclimated and see if he is the real deal. He definitely trending in the right direction.

The jury is still out on Parsons because of injuries. Why compare him to Parsons though? Different styles
