I just googled apparently Payton is on the block We could trade for both Payton and ibaka Codman mentions the rabbit act then that we won't have just capella guarding the post and also mentioned it might be 3 team I think So we could trade them salary filler to get there and giving them Harrell and draft picks and something going to a team that would send back a pg to magic? I dunno like a Rubio type player?
http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=zaz3urd Something like this trade I'm not sure what it would take to get this done but something of that nature Like Orlando gets a second rder, Rubio and Harrell and Minnesota gets a 1st rd pick and ennis I am not saying Rubio is what goes but just a pg like him that's on the block that they can hope to keep.
Codman: [If Morey is "backing off," consider the depth from that Rabbit Act that could help us. His name is still alive and well...] 1. Ryan Anderson is going nowhere! 2. E.G is going nowhere! 3. "Depth from that Rabbit Act" I'm assuming refers to DM's great late round drafting/Rookie signings that has allowed him to gather good assets that may hold more value than people think (Chinanu, Wiltjer, Harrell, Llull, Gentile). 4. Rockets will probably NOT get Ibaka but maybe grab a Guard/Forward that has been forgotten in ORL by the name of Hezonja. 5. Don't expect major moves however expect A move to be made by the deadline. 6. If Ibaka and (Payton) do make it here it will be at the expense of Harrell, KJ, Brew, future 2nd round pick, and the rights to Llull.
Just looked up what min is looking for trading rubio "“The Timberwolves have attached Rubio to multiple offers with Shabazz Muhammad to several teams around the NBA, league sources said. Minnesota has been seeking something of a “bridge” guard in return, a player capable of starting in the short term, but who’ll ultimately settle into a backup role and give way to rookie Kris Dunn to become the long-term starter, league sources said." Ennis could be the bridge guard that becomes back up and they get a 1st rder Someone has to eat brewers comtract ... think wolves might be willing to get a veteran locker room guy?
I just read a recent article on Rob Hennigan that he's considering all trade proposals and by the trade deadline, he will pick the best offer. So, I think, of all the teams' proposal, he's only looking at teams that are contenders right now....to be fair to Ibaka. Given that, it's most likely between - Raptors - Rockets - Celtics The Celtics are too cheap to give up any quality assets. The Raps may fool around and actually give up Terrence Ross/Delon Wright and a 1st rd. pick. The Magic will take that the minute the Raps offer those assets The Rockets would have the better advantage but Morey can be too careful to a fault, worrying that if he do anything to starting 5 and rotation players, it will have a negative effect. And that would include trading Dekker and Ryno.....which I seriously don't think it will hurt us one bit. Anderson is a first-year player for the Rockets. He's not gonna hurt us as his game has actually cost us some wins, here and there. The only players I think would hurt our overall competiveness if traded are: - E. Gordon - Capela - Montrezl - Even Nene And as much as I like K.J. McDaniels, I would be willing to deal him Dekker, Brewer and a 1st pick for Ibaka.
If I'm dealing with phx I will only consider something including Bledsoe to be are 2nd "allstar". And Sam or Trez would have to be included w picks plus other fill ins. Someone like him is worth a shuffle but not Chandler or any other player on the if roster
I think Ibaka is not our target if we're talking w/ the Magic. I remember reading somewhere during 2015 draft that DM loved him some Mario Hezonja. I could see some deal for Hezonja and BJ Augustin to help depth at SF/SG and PG, and maybe a throw-in like Stephen Zimmerman (young 7'0" player w/ upside) for a Brewer, KJ McD and Onuaku or Wiltjer and a 2nd rounder. While three guys probably won't be traded, this kind of move looks more like tweaking the fringes vs a major move. Augustin is a good PG and would be a nice back-up in case something happened to Bev. Hezonja could flourish in MDA's offense and Zimmerman has potential to develop in it as well.
If you trade Harrell, you giving more minutes to old man, Nene. That's not good. It's a reason him and Montrezl take turns being back-up Centers behind Capela. To keep Nene fresh and avoid too many minutes at his age. Ibaka is not gonna come off the bench if he's traded here. Ryno going to the bench if Dekker is traded. And that may works best since he's better off in the 2nd unit with E. Gordon. They have chemistry.
Ok so it's been verified that Rabbit Act is indeed the Magic. Also, Serge is likely the main guy Morey would want from Orlando, but we may be backing off. Cod had said we're going after depth. That means our 7 main guys aren't getting traded. Beverley-Harden-Ariza-ANDERSON-Capela-Gordon-Dekker. Nene likely stays as well. So where would we need depth at? PG and PF. And maybe at C, too. I think if it's not Serge then it's definitely Payton. The whole Abel and Hi Weeknd thing just screams out Payton's hair. The assets we can give up in any combination Our own 1st round pick (Likely 26-30) Denver's 2nd round pick (Around 45) Portland's 2nd round pick (Around 45) Montrezl Harrel ("He had so much upside!!") Kyle Wiljer ("He had so much upside!!") K.J. McDaniels ("He had so much upside!!") Corey Brewer (Salary filler) Only if we get a near all-star assets (the board will be on fire talking about, "He had so much upside!!!") Sam Dekker Clint Capela Orlando Magic trade targets Serge Ibaka (on trade block, depth at 4) Elfred Payton (Hi weeknd) Nikola Vucevic (We're not going into the post season with a healing Clint and an aging, yet very good person in Ne'.) D.J. Augustin (Do you really want Ennis and BBrown(noNoseCandy) running it if Pat gets hurt? Nah.) Freebirds ("injured to show case the rookies") Tyson Chandler Kenneth Faried Wilson Chandler Danilo Galinari Maybe Tyreke Evans and Moore anyone can be free to add on or edit this post. Cod also talked about Moose (Greg), some Bulls, and implosions (Kings? Blazers? Knicks?) Also, Cod said "Of course, I have my preferences, but DM sees the game as a 3/d/layup track meet." which means we're going after a guy who would gel great with our current playing style. Dunno how that's Payton or Monroe but okay.
Ariza and KJ, 2nd for W.Chandler. Brewer,Harrell, 2nd for ibaka. Harden Bev Chandler Ibaka Capella Bench:Gordon, Anderson, Dekker, NeNe
i really dont understand why we never get dj augustin and hes a perfect PG for us at least he play very good when i am watching him but then again why hes being thrown around by several different teams now in the span of couple of years?
Plenty of dead ends here as Codman has been nice enough to tell us about the Rockets "due diligence." But you've really summarized things well. I wouldn't be surprised if we asked about most of the players that you've listed. You should add Cristiano Felicio (notes about being "religious") and Nikola Mirotic as they are some Bulls. I think Codman has been hinting at larger 3-way trades involving players like Monroe or Brook Lopez that may not even involve the Rockets. Any move like this might be Sacramento's way of trying to get something for Cousins before he walks. That dust has to settle before we can add depth (a PG or Forward) at the deadline. However, it's not all speculation. We are settled and have something that we'll do, that's what the "boom" means. I think we have to add a guard and Elfrid Payton is an interesting talent. DM might want to sweeten that deal to include Mario Hezonja but that may require pulling a rabbit out of a hat.
Ariza isn't going anywhere, unless we're swinging some blockbuster deal for a bonafide All-Star like Cousins or Butler. Not only is he our most versatile defender, but he's also Harden's closest friend on the team.
Sounds Miami is pushing to ge Ibaka Winslow for Ibaka Good article http://heathoops.com/2017/02/miami-heat-interested-in-serge-ibaka/
