There's literally one player in the league with initials R.A. Perhaps we expand the search to coaches, GMs, and non human topics
Orlando wants one talent player, first draft.pick and one player with short contract. It is a little bit too much for this trade
Dec. 8, 2015: halftime Act @Kings v. Wolves - peter Rabbit http://www.nba.com/games/20151218/SACMIN/gameinfo.html
Initially, I was willing to give up Harrell for him. Harrell is tough, and can become a better role player. I'm fine with Ibaka going to another team.
Codman hinted towards the Magic, as in a Rabbit pulled out of a hat. He is starting to become a bit like Doc Rocket!
I love Montrezl, Sam and Clint too, but I am scared of us overvaluing our own players in this D'Antoni system. It would be incredibly hard for me to not pull the trigger. Thankfully nothing, and you can bet on that going forward If you wish. Count me OUT. Hassan is still a shaky defender that battles consistency and focus issues. He would probably look great with Harden, but I don't want any more cancerous losers after finally dumping Dwight.
Ibaka certainly wouldn't be a rental. He would be part of the core and immediately the second best player on our team.
He's an unrestricted FA next year so there is a chance of him being a rental. It would likely take either Gordon or Anderson to bring him here, too. I'm not sure how this would move the needle very far, nor am I sure why a team with the 3rd best winning percentage in the NBA right now would even risk it. That said, I would be perfectly fine giving up Brewer, Ennis, KJ, and even my own body on a 1 night rental if we could acquire Serge. However, I don't think any of that will fly with Orlando.
People keep.saying he'd be a rental to us ------ do you understand we are 1 of the top 3 teams in the West? The idea of Ibaka being a rental is to explore his free agency options to a ****gasp***** contender team. And being we are one of the top teams in the league, we have a far better chance of signing him to a long term contract than 23 NBA teams. He's 27, in his prime....where else is he gonna go if not us? Once we get in the Playoffs and do battle and bond, its highly unlikely he will find a better situation than what we can give him. He will be the 2nd highest scorer on the Rockets..A starter in his natural position as a 4 and Capela at the 5. This fits Ibaka the way he wamts to be used. He don't want to be a full-time Center. He's like the stretch-4 idea and occassionally Center duties. I mean, he's not gonna find a better situation than the Rockets that would give him all that as a Player. The person I would worry about is his Agent. He might pump his head up that the Raptor is a better situation simply because Kyle Lowry is one of his clients but Ibaka fits here given that he got the top PG and SG in Harden who is his former teammate. He can hit the ground running alot easier than going to the Raptor and having to find his niche again. Don't think Ibaka will leave the Rockets if we trade for him. We'd have his bird rights and the success of the team will definitely.entice him to stay.
Codman is definitely talking about Elfrid Payton when he mentions the Magic. That the Weekend, that's Abel. 3 team deal with us getting Payton.
Rockets supposedly had a lot of interest in the Magic euro center in the preseason right? I think with his range and ability to play the pick and pop he would be great under MDA
I think the only way it happens is with Brewer, a pick and a young prospect. DM isn't sending Ryno/EG anywhere. As for the reason, it is because the gap between us and the top three teams in the league is pretty significant. Harden's prime years are slipping away and Serge Ibaka is immediately our second best player. He has had huge playoff series against Memphis, GSW, SAS, just about everyone. Absolute game changer in the playoffs. All of that said, I totally understand where you are coming from dude. I am hesitant to deal too, but I am also keen to sell high on a few of our overrated prospects in order to win now.
That would be underwhelming. I mean sure he is better than Ennis, but he is a horrible shooter and defender. CJ Watson would seem to be a better fit. He used to be a pretty solid shooter....what in the world happened to him? Injuries? Ennis and KJ would match perfectly on the salaries if we wanted to gamble on him being healthy next year since he is owed 5 mil. Actually let's just do this instead http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=zfacjtg 1st, Harrell, Ennis, KJ, Brewer for Ibaka and Watson
DM is all about the business of "fleecing" someone out of their asests. He got a reputation of slaying many a foes among these GMs. Haha....so these GMs will be on their game when DM come a'callin about their assets. They playing hardball against DM that Im afraid it will be hard for Morey to even get a fair shake among these GMs. There's a Sucker out there that want to slay the Master so they can say, "I FLEECED Daryl Morey!!" Haha...
Ibaka is a take all the way even if it costs Anderson, Trevor, Harrell, or Dekker, 1st round picks, 2nd round picks, damn near any player not named Harden. As for the notion of not making trades as a 3rd place team I say that is bunk. The only season that matters is the playoffs and everyone here knows that the play is different than in a regular season, the game is much more physical, the refs are different, the defenses are much more intense, 3 pointers are reduced (both attempts and makes), fast breaks decrease, and size matters more. This is why you take an Ibaka all the way and damn near do whatever it takes to get him or similar high level player. The James Harden Window will only be open for so long, do whatever it takes during this short window to get to the Finals.
Well it depends, you know before KD went to GSW OKC was seen as the 2nd or 3rd best team in the West. Ibaka is definitely in his prime, but you don't really know if winning is the only thing that's important to him, he might be like Millsap who thinks he's worth 30M, or at least 25M. If you look at Ibaka, you'll see that historically he's a guy who has plateaued at the level you're seeing today, even when KD/and or WB became injured he hasn't stepped up in OKC, he still recorded his ~15 pts and 8 rebs so it's hard to see him doing more than that, and if a guy like him will only give you 15 pts and 9 rebs how big of a gap is that to Capela vs just using that money on a wing scorer which we need more? Ironically I would trade Capela for Ibaka straight up, but only if Hezonja came in for free to help our wing scorer problem on the cheap. Getting another wing scorer should definitely be the top priority over upgrading the C spot IMHO, I mean MDA offense means a center will do very little, so I don't see the point of getting another big guy when we have a gaping hole on the wing. Tonight MDA basically gave big minutes to Brewer and Ennis, if we had a competent perimeter scorer that wouldn't happen.
When I read Cod's posts, I always look at PHX first since he apparently has ties to the club. Tyson Chandler & Barbosa wouldn't address 100% of our needs, but TC is a guy that likely wants out, is probably sitting out to showcase the young bigs on PHX, and would require 1 of our talented youngs, likely Montrezl, I'd assume, in the deal.
