If this is true, it isn't surprising. I think the Magic probably want Dekker, and maybe as the deadline nears, the price will go down and Morey could make another push. Teams like the Raptors and Celtics also seem hesitant to trade for an upcoming free agent. Celtics have tons of assets, and I expect them to try for a big name like Jimmy Butler rather than guys like Ibaka. Don't know if the Hawks are ready to trade Millsap, but if he is available, I see the Raptors trading for him and then Ibaka would be the next available stretch 4 on the market. We'll just have to wait and see. Don't expect anything to happen until after the All Star break. I do expect the Magic to trade Ibaka for something rather than letting him walk during free agency and be left with nothing.

man, i would love to have serge, but it's smart to hold off and wait til FA hits. his asking price will be steep.

the best moves are the ones you don't make.

however, i do wish we could add some depth at the 3 and 1.

Daryl Morey creeping. Exactly what I wanted to hear... :)

The only thing that could ruin us is If Boston wants to push in their big boy chips. Not worried about Toronto.

I'm not sure Ainge is going to pull the trigger on Ibaka, they need more a star caliber player and they'll have cap space this summer to go after Ibaka if they really want him, i don't think he's going to burn assets for Serge, he's probably waiting to see if Butler, Cousins will be moved, those are the players worth Boston assets.

That depends on whether or not the assets coming in are worth it over simply letting him walk. Also, just because he picks 3 teams doesn't mean a 4th team won't take a chance to trade for him anyways on a chance to convince him.

Last year before the trade deadline, cyberx mention a Dragic-Whiteside trade to Houston posibility. Maybe for Dwigt expiring. Maybe this time

He already said not to trade for Ibaka as Orlando wants the first draft pick.

Maybe, I'm still not as sure you.

BEfore the injury 100% he opts out.

AFTEr the injury I think it drops to like 65% which is still pretty high probability.

HE might get More years but I dont think he gets more money per year than he does now.

If Morey is "backing off," consider the depth from that Rabbit Act that could help us. His name is still alive and well....

Unconventional formula can be 3 teams. Patience. We're not going into the post season with a healing Clint and an aging, yet very good person in Ne'.

Do you really want Ennis and BBrown(noNoseCandy) running it if Pat gets hurt? Nah.

Man, if come to find out the Magic wanted S. Dekker/1st rd pick/C. Brewer and Morey refused, we should petition to Leslie Alexander to have a trusted outside team to look all future trades Morey do, and what the team asked for in return and have the power to override Morey crazy decisions.

Or, to have Leslie informed of what teams asked for in return, and have a trusted independent team to make a 2nd and final decision whether it supports Morey' decision or go against it.

Because if the Magic offered Ibaka for Dekker and Morey turned it down, the independent team should override his stupidity and make Morey take that deal!

If the Magic asked for Dekker, I would happily refused the trade proposal, to a lesser degree with the 1st round pick.

Dekker is going to be a better player than Ibaka. You don't trade him for a rental. Sorry.

While I do like Ibaka as a player, he is a really good role player, nothing more.

Orlando is a worse team than last year, on both sides of the ball. OKC is actually a better defensive team this year

Again, he is a good player, but people raving about how impactful he would be are off base, he's good, not great. And if he were an elite level defensive player like some claim, one of the teams would have seen some performance change.

Whiteside is a complete headcase. I dunno if you can win big with an investment in that kind of headcase.

Someone needs to figure this out. Rabbit Act? Or a 3 team trade?

What has he done this year pointing to him being a "complete head case"?

Rabbit Act =RA=Ryan Anderson? I don't expect him to be traded but he did capitalize the R and the A

Who's name is still alive and well?

Hints about us getting a big to help with the postseason, then about a backup PG

    From Codman's other posts:

A FreeBird is a guy who wants out, has the skills, but just needs a new environment. He's undervalued, underappreciated and "injured" to showcase rookies.
The problem is what we would have to give up...that is terrifying.

But, we've got picks and the usual suspects. If things go through, the board will be on fire talking about, "He had so much upside!!!" (this sounds like Harrell or Decker, obvi)

Would love me some old school Rip Hamilton coming off of picks....

    And

    We are going after depth.

FreeBirds, Bulls, Moose, Bunnies in a Hat and the implosions.... (what does the rabbit mean? the moose?)

It may not be huge, but it will bolster what we need.

    That's what is necessary.

Give me Abel already. :) (some people suggested this means a 3 way trade with Tor and Orl)

    Thoughts?

You guys are totally missing the point here. You act like we see Ibaka as a Superstar level player alongside Harden. That's not how I see Ibaka with the Rockets. I don't want another "superstar level" player like Harden. That's the last thing sensible Rox fans would want.

We see Ibaka as an ideal fit at the 4 spot, 10X better than Anderson. We like the fact he's a "role player" and on the high-end of a "role player".....that's exactly.what we need.

Anderson is not a high-end role player. He's a bench level player, believe it or not. The fact his game is one-sided on offense is what makes him a bench level guy. Most starting 5 role-players are 3 and D guys.

Ariza is like that, Bev is like that....and with Capela, he's defense/athelicism/ around-the-basket scoring. Not to mention, improving his FTs.

You add Ibaka to that starting 5 unit, you get Capela some defensive help, help rebounding, 3 pt shooting and an "impact" than what Anderson is.

Ibaka is good enough to draw defenders to him which opens the floor for guys like Harden/Bev/Ariza. You dont get that with Anderson. If Anderson get the ball down low and try to back it in to the basket, he isn't a threat enough to draw defenders to him.

He's prone to botch that play; make a turnover, take a silly off-balance throw-up, or miss a toss-in or take a step-back shot with a 50/50 chance of going in. His impact is minimal to none.

And for guys to not see that about Anderson is something outside of basketball and more "personal" as to why you want him as a starter at the 4 and not trade for Ibaka who is a huge upgrade over Anderson.
