Abel is Drake. Drake's associated with the Toronto Raptors. Codman's alluding that the Raptors could be involved with Houston for a trade.
I thought @Codman meant buyout players as freebirds. I would guess he is referring to Bosh? Would be no shock to learn Morey had interest in Bosh after a buyout....
Bosh is an interesting piece, but he doesn't help us immediately. Last I heard, teams are still worried about the poor guy's health. A FreeBird is a guy who wants out, has the skills, but just needs a new environment. He's undervalued, underappreciated and "injured" to showcase rookies. Ryan Anderson/EGo are great examples. Quickly tired of being CagedBirds...now, they're free and happy. Even NeNe....caged into offenses that didn't support his skill or leadership. Now, he's free and happy. Our guy(s) are out there, and it's just a matter of time before they ask to be traded or mgmt sees them as better elsewhere. The problem is what we would have to give up...that is terrifying. But, we've got picks and the usual suspects. If things go through, the board will be on fire talking about, "He had so much upside!!!" But, we're in 3rd place...it's time to win with James in his prime. Of course, I have my preferences, but DM sees the game as a 3/d/layup track meet. Would love me some old school Rip Hamilton coming off of picks.... Love yall
Moose is Monroe and free bird is Asik wanting a buy out. Asik would be a great get for the playoffs to put on Marc Gasol
The Moose can score and rebound, but he can't defend. Asik won't be happy back in Houston, in the D'Antoni system.
Shrugs, I'm not sure if people are going to hate on me for this but sometimes I think Bev tries to hard to be that tough guy. I love his tenacity in games (especially his brightest moment shutting down westbrook to clinch that one game in OKC) but there are times I feel it's a bit much and doesn't really pay off. Just getting into people's faces and being unfriendly to opposing players (especially star ones like Curry/Lilliard who both shrugged it off and proceeded to own him in those playoff series'), sometimes gets old. I want to see that Beverly that shut down people with his play (like that time he completely destroyed Jrue Holiday), not just his antics/talk. I want to see more consistency in his play that lets the antics/toughness actually mean something.
If DM sees the game as a 3/d/layup track meet, then we are gonna be in trouble in the half court during the playoffs. It's gonna get physical, we need bangers, who can defend/ rebound.
I don't see Toronto letting him go, unless he is part of a big trade. I think he has more upside than Capela.
"on fire talking about he had so much upside". Capella or Harrell I am thinking. I think the board would freak out more if Capella was moved out. Also Capella being moved would be the terrifying part of what we have to give up. hmm. I guess we will know in 12 short days. I don't know my NBA personnel much. But who is "injured" to give younguns PT? I wonder.
I feel like the FreeBird that wants out might be Thabo. He's been inactive the past several games w/ a groin injury and his return is "undetermined." Also fits the bill as undervalued/underappreciated. Idk. Like this comment if I'm right Cod Hope this "so much upside" character is Dekker and not Capela.
Pat Beverly !!! is still getting better and better. Defense has returned since knee surgery and his offense and rebounding is better than ever.
Tyreke Evans, Rondo, Tobias Harris, Monroe, Bogut, Faried, Deng... These are at least some names i can think falling somehow under that category as today...those are basically all guys not playing or not playing the minutes/role they maybe should on imploding teams or teams not dooing that well...i dont0 think we can put Gallo there but who knows...
