Milwaukee could give up either of those players if they were crazy. They aren't blowing up a good young core on the hope that Ibaka will stick around. Boston makes some sense but Ainge is not the type that easily gives to assets. I doubt he'd be willing to offer much more than the Rockets would for an UFA. Chicago isn't going all in. They have no chance and know it. Toronto makes a lot of sense. I'd be surprised if they didn't make a serious play for him. You are looking at it wrong. Teams aren't going to be willing to give up high prospect guys for a rental. Lots of teams will have a ton of cap space again next year and Ibaka isn't getting a super max. He will have plenty of choices.
How exactly would the rockets take on Whiteside's $22 million, Dragic's $16 million, Gay's $16 million and Caspi/Dudley, while only sending out the salary of Anderson ($18 million) and guys on their first contract? I don't think the NBA works that way.
Gay wouldn't be coming here. He'd be an expiring to Miami. We'd be sending out Anderson, Brewer, Capela, KJ, and Ennis, plus picks. Getting back Hassan, Goran, and Casspi per se. That's suitable with Anderson's salary and the others.
I don't know. Capela McLemore, cap space, and picks isn't exactly trash, is it? (I don't think Riley will do it because Miami is on a big roll. But Riley has tossed around starting over before this streak.)
Thanks to our team giving the Heat a win, which put them on a huge roll, any Miami fire sale can be forgotten.
You are the guy in fantasy who offers his 3 worst players for my best and says since the 3 have more stats when added up than my one I should accept the offer.
Rocket fans, be aware of L.A. and East Coast fans that plant themselves as other teams' fanbase on sports forums and say the most outlandish crap. Nobody in their right mind would trade for Casspi and make him a starter. These are either Lakers and Kings fans. I doubt it's Clippers and Warrior fans. They have a way better team than the Lakers and Kings I saw fans like this on Youtube and B/R planting themselves as Rox fans and say we should trade for Mosgov and give up Capela. Silly.
Btw the Heat are on a 12 game winning streak and are only one game out of the playoffs, they couple easily take 7th seed in the next 5-10 games. Dragic is balling, Whiteside is balling, now Waiters has started balling(basically replacing Wades production). Don't see them trading apart a team that's on that big of a role, will likely be in the playoffs, and is one free agent signing away this off season to being back to a top 5 east team next season. Especially for any underwhelming package the Rockets could offer (lol at not including Dekker). Can we move this to the trade idea thread since that's what it is?
Your the only guy I know that says Anderson and Capela and picks are our three worst players. I mean, you know, if we going to distort, we can distort.
If he were a restricted FA then I think you'd be right, but call him a role player all you want, he's going to get paid next season. If you want to keep him and sign him, you'd better be ready to dish out the money. He can make more if he stays with whatever team trades for him and regardless of what your value of him is, the league will be paying him more than just a role player's salary. If he were to say "I want to go to one of the 3 teams", the team that puts up the best offer essentially wins him in free agency. He has a say...
