The "it," in this case, is the market, not Super Bowl. "people outside the market think the Texans are closer to the SB than the ones in (the market; ie Houston)."
If the Texans do this, it better while closing the doors on their moving vans to Tennessee. That would be so monumentally stupid.
No. No, no, no........ You don't restructure Brock and you don't cut him. Not this year, anyway. You swallow whatever his cap hit is this year and then move on in 2018. Any other decision with Brock, short of finding a sucker to take on his contract, should not be considered or discussed.
Quoted for truth. We knew when we got into it that it was essentially a 2-year deal. We made our bed...
Todd! Todd! Todd! Todd! Todd! 25. Houston Texans, 9-7 Garett Bolles, OT, Utah Quarterback is a possibility, but I don't see DeShone Kizer and Bill O'Brien being a good marriage. Upgrading the offensive line is also a priority, and Bolles has the athleticism that Houston needs up front. He's an underrated prospect who should continue to rise in a weak offensive line class. SI: 25. Houston Texans PATRICK MAHOMES, QB, TEXAS TECH The Texans have all but said they’ll be drafting a quarterback—and likely early, because whomever it is will be expected to push Brock Osweiler and Tom Savage. Mahomes’s blend of athleticism and a rocket arm might finally solve Bill O’Brien’s QB woes.
I wouldn't hate Garett Bolles in the first but there is some risk that goes with that kind of a pick. He's got amazing athleticism, but he's not that strong. I don't think there's any question that he'd be an upgrade at RT though and has potential to be a VERY good left tackle at some point in the future if he develops properly.
I don't think we fix our franchise QB position in the forseeable future. Brock is going to fail no trade for jimmy g no signing romo and I believe we don't draft a QB in the draft who is franchise QB caliber.
I am amazed at how many people say to sign Romo. Where is the money coming from? Get realistic guys. Dallas wouldn't give up Romo without us giving them Watt or Clowney or a bunch of draft picks and a good player. Our money is tied up in Brock this year so get back down to earth and face reality.
You're overestimating Romo's value. Not in money, but in correlating players. Dallas would maybe get a fourth round pick for him at most, due to his age and contract. He may have to be cut because of his contract. In a dream scenario, he's cut, signs here and say 4 million dollars and allows us to cut Brock. Honestly, he is the golden ticket that could free us of Brock.
I'm not on the Romo train by any means...That said, in a perfect world, how cool would it be to win a Super Bowl with Romo when Dallas couldn't win anything with him? Still, I'm done with stopgaps.
Tom Savage was set to play the GB game, Mahomes thinks the Texans are a real possibility, Mckinney said in a radio interview defense was frustrated with offense, Chris Harris thinks the offense can only be run smoothly by Brady and offense should be tailored to Brock, many people think Texans are a QB away, Andre Johnson still wants to be part of Texans; willing to assist WRs: http://www.scout.com/nfl/texans/story/1753967-41-51-51-things-we-learned-about-texans
And yet Osweiler still started the playoff game after Savage was cleared from the concussion He looked like fiery garbage and wasted an excellent defensive effort O'Brien gonna take us on the continuing QB carousel where he chooses the wrong guy
If the guy could just stay healthy, he's a solid starter in this league. Still, he's the same age as Osweiler, and you can't really say that about Osweiler. Also, as a Texan, I'm sure Mahomes would love to be a Texan.
Well he'll get yet another chance to prove himself in camp, if he's as good as you think, he should win the job easily.
