After Trump using POTUS Twitter account to demean Nordstrom for dropping the struggling Trump brand, Kellyanne Conway tells Fox we should buy Ivanka's goods. This certainly feels wrong, but I do not think it's illegal and I am sure the GOP congress will overlook this.

To be fair to Trump and Conway, one of my coworkers swears by her Ivanka Trump heels.

A top aide to U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday promoted the clothing and jewelry line named after his daughter Ivanka, one day after the president's tweet criticizing a retailer for dropping her product line drew criticism over using public office for personal business gains.

"Go buy Ivanka's stuff," Trump senior adviser Kellyanne Conway told Fox News in an interview from the White House. "I'm going to get some myself today."

On Thursday, Ivanka's brand was thrust again into the headlines after her father attacked department store chain Nordstrom Inc in a highly unusual move using a White House twitter platform to intervene in a commercial matter.

"My daughter Ivanka has been treated so unfairly by @Nordstrom. She is a great person - always pushing me to do the right thing! Terrible!" Trump tweeted on Wednesday.

Nordstrom's shares dipped after the tweet, sent from both Trump's personal and official presidential accounts, but later closed up 4.0 percent on the New York Stock Exchange. Its shares were little changed in pre-market trade Thursday morning.

The move prompted criticism of Trump by ethics officials who served past Republican and Democratic administrations and said Trump's tweet was both unprecedented and troublesome.

White House spokesman Sean Spicer defended Trump's tweet on Wednesday, telling reporters that "the president has every right as a father to stand up" for his daughter.

Conway said on Thursday also backed Trump's comment, telling Fox News: "He's been a champion for women empowerment, women in the workplace."

Ivanka Trump has said she would step away from her company when her father took office in the White House.

A spokeswoman for the Ivanka Trump brand declined to comment on Wednesday.

Nordstrom has defended its decision to drop Ivanka's wares, citing performance.

Retailers still selling Ivanka Trump products include Macy's Inc, TJX Cos, Hudson’s Bay Co, which runs high-end chains like Lord & Taylor, and Dillards Inc. Retailers that have dropped Ivanka Trump include Neiman Marcus and HSN Inc

The move by some retailers to drop her products comes amid an ongoing campaign called #GrabYourWallet, which encourages shoppers to boycott products with ties to President Trump, his family and his donors.

I believe you are right. It's wrong, and not illegal as far as I can tell.

I'm a Trump supporter but his tweets about Nordstrom are really inappropriate. Obama continually attacked US businesses and
it was an embarrassment to the Presidency to attack our companies that employ people and are just trying to produce income for
the owners. Whether it was extorting our banks or vilifying our energy companies, it was counter to producers and I furiously attacked
Obama for it and so now Trump deserves a lashing.

A company will make a decision based on its bottom line and if it doesn't then the CEO/Board should be thrown out.

For a President to attack a brand for dropping an obviously polarizing brand is a pretty terrible thing to do.

I'm a Trump supporter but this is something I vehemently disagree with.

It's mind-boggling how Trump supporters were utterly duped by him.

    Very Sad!

I think most of them want to be duped, they want to look for a reason to vote for Trump, if it was not corrupt Hillary, it would be something else. They do not really care how corrupt a politician is as long as he is on their side. This is especially true for hardcore conservatives, as they are usually very hypocritical.

At least i'm straightforward about what I like and what I disagree with. Despite his flaws he is A MUCH BETTER
candidate than the naive Obama or the crooked Hillary Clinton.

You mental people are in meltdown mode.

I think many people here are so politically correct that if someone is polite and speaks nicely then you think they're a saint.
That's why Trump is so reviled as he attacks the sensitivities of people and speaks freely.

It was Emerson that said "What you do speaks so loudly that I cannot hear what you say"

Obama's administration and his policies have acted like GRAVITY on the US economy. Going from Bank to Bank
extorting money in a Spitzer'esque fashion is a terrible, terrible precedent.

Any quote from a president critiquing businesses is more or less an attack on it for some people. At least its consistent.

If I really had to, I'd look up the bailouts and Dodd-Frank period for those quotes.

I wonder who told Conway to said that? Ahhh, mixing family business and massive political power - whatever.

Bullshit a much better candidate. You're so full of ****. He's an infantile idiot who's caused more problems already in 3 weeks than other Presidents have in years. It's not meltdown- it's honest- if you can't see what a ****ing moron Trump is, YOU are the one who is mental.

It's patently ridiculous that I even have to explain this, but I will. Republicans had meltdowns over things like "deplorables" and "clinging to guns and religion" that if Trump said them, he'd be lauded. Because he's said much worse than that and then some. I can't even keep up with all of it.

You've got one of the patron saints of conservatism of all time, Rush Limbaugh, admitting today on the radio that he'd be most likely be up in arms if it was a liberal or Democrat saying what Trump has. But that his sole joy is getting a kick out of liberals and Dems losing their minds over this. I'm not kidding- he literally said that at 11:05 AM today. And you've got Trump admitting, to his audience's face, that he lied to them.

So, don't come talking to us about being mental. If you justify this clown's behavior, you've got problems.

But you know this. You know, deep down, that you voted for a supreme ******* for President. You just don't want to admit it b/c you're too invested in it. No sane person can justify his behavior at this point. It's beyond ridiculous how wrong he has been in a 3-week period.

But, go ahead. Have the audacity to call Hillary Clinton crooked when you're confronted with the most ethically challenged administration in the history of the country. You're only making an utter fool of yourself.

And frankly, I don't give a rat's ass if you don't like hearing it. Comparing Obama or Clinton to Trump shows how delusional you are.

    Have a nice day.

Can you point to examples of this extortion of money? Or are you referring to legal actions taken against banks that committed fraud? Is your position that banks should be allowed to commit crimes and any attempt to hold them accountable is bad?

What, he gave her a spanking? Told her to stand in the corner? Sent to her without her supper?

btw, Trump himself should be given the same timeout... his tweet also violated the same Ethics Code:

§ 2635.702 Use of public office for private gain.
An employee shall not use his public office for his own private gain, for the endorsement of any product, service or enterprise, or for the private gain of friends, relatives, or persons with whom the employee is affiliated in a nongovernmental capacity, including nonprofit organizations of which the employee is an officer or member, and persons with whom the employee has or seeks employment or business relations. Again, complete bullshit. Trump is reviled by decent people b/c he's a 100% *******. Where do I start? He is narcissistic to the umpteenth degree. He insults prisoners of war. He belittles his opponents. He impugns the reputation of judges who don't agree with him. He threatens (they say jokingly) that he can help ruin the career of a politician. He implied that Ted Cruz' dad was connected somehow to the JFK assassination. He called for a complete ban of an entire religion. He....

Look, what's the point? You're actually trying to justify this *******'s behavior, so there's nothing I'm going to say that's going to change your mind. You're going to keep believing that it's all about Trump speaking freely- what a wonderful thing that is! And I'm sorry, I said for weeks I'm going to give him a chance, but that's done. This is not Bush, or Bush, or Reagan, or Ford, or Nixon, or Eisenhower, or Hoover, or Coolidge, or Teddy Roosevelt, or McKinley, or... Lincoln (I don't remember who is before McKinley- maybe Taft? or was he a Dem?)- this is an outright embarrassment to the Republican party and our country.

If that makes me mental saying all this, great! I'm mental. And I'm also correct.
