another one of those that think stats tell the entire story without understanding the full variables and context that go along with it
I start with the 'fact' he doesn't always bring it. I thought his shots and D were less than I'd hope for in a guy who'll make $20/4 next year. On the other hand, I thought he was auditioning and thus wondered, 'What does James want?' as well as how 'responsive' SergeI might be to JH13 over time? I didn't think he made the effort until the game was getting out of hand BTW.
Will he bring the same to every game? Maybe not. But we sure could use his skill set. Will he bring the same to every game - - after signing his new deal???
A valid point. There is always the post-signing letdown. Maybe not on the par of Boris Diaw, years ago, who signed his deal and went home and ate every croissant he could find.
What are you doing here?? You need to be calling up GM's all over the league, they don't know of Ibaka's mystical 3pt shooting prowess. Defensive strategists are busy closing out on the Curry's and Durant's of this league when it's Ibaka who's going to rain dozens of 3's on them come playoff time!! Come on dude. You couldn't even muster up a single point in your response. It was wrong of you to try to do that. You went into the website, you saw the stats, and you thought it would fly to leave some out. Everyone is wrong sometimes. Don't be one of those guys, on this board the stench will stick to you for a long time. You KNEW Anderson was taking 3 times the attempts, and you intentionally left our Anderson's past 2 playoff performances. I went in there and I scraped out all the facts, those supporting Ibaka and those supporting Anderson, and I put it out there for everyone to see. That's where we are now. Like I said, you can believe in the flying spaghetti monster if you like, but Ryan Anderson is the better shooter. There is overwhelming evidence to support it.
Am I the only one who doesn't think Ibaka will go for the biggest dollar possible? I mean he willingly room am under market value extension with okc to help the team. I'm guessing he gets offers around 20-24 per. I could see Brooklyn offering 26-28 per but how badly does he want to suck for that earning power? I just feel like he wants to compete and win which explains why he turns it up in the playoffs.
I would hope so. Before OKC traded Ibaka to Orlando I felt Ibaka would end up in Florida. To me Ibaka is a Miami Heat guy.....Playing next to Whiteside next year. Having said that I would make the trade for Ibaka as some sites are suggesting (Harrell/Brewer/KJ+1st rd). I don't believe the Thunder gets by the Spurs in last yrs playoffs without Ibaka logging in minutes at the 5. Same with the Thunder getting a 3-1 lead (Ibaka playing some 5) on the Warriors in the WCF's last year. Cavs gave a first for Korver with a chance of Korver walking this summer. I would prefer Ibaka playing the 5 over Ryno in small-ball lineups. Ibaka/Dekker/Ariza/Harden/Gordon. Gordon over Beverley due to post up defense. I see it as a win-win situation. If Ibaka re-signs with the Rockets, Great. If Ibaka walks, at least the KJ/Brewer contracts are off the books plus Ibaka reserved $ for him.
Don't think anyone has denied that so that's not relevant here. When it comes to what the rockets do most he isn't better than Ryno at it so obviously not that smart
Can't you move Ibaka to the sf position. He's the same build as KD (according to espn, he's lighter). Ariza can play the 2 and Bev can come off the bench. He plays a lot with the bench unit anyways.
Clint Ibaka Ariza Bev Harden Nene Anderson Dekker Gordon FA Sounds decent to me. why are you guys over complicating things like putting Anderson at the 3. When we want t go small ball/3 pt heavy Ibaka Anderson Ariza Gordon Harden
Since it's rumored that we're interested in Chalmers or Jack. Who would you want or would you want another backup PG/SG?
We don't need Ibaka as a replacement to Ryan or Clint. We can have all three! Anderson could really bolster our bench
Of course Orlando is the winner of that trade I mean who else would be since they're the ones collecting the assets, (he was walking out and decided to stay for player option to help them out)but they didn't get much for top 5 player at the time who happened to have a full year rather than 2 months rental in ibaka. Just because Orlando gave up the 12th pick and oladipo to acquire ibaka doesn't mean they're getting an equal value back and for only 2 month rental. AGAIN ibaka can swing a trade or increase his trade value by telling X team he wants to resign he's is getting paid star money so his opinion does matter here.
