I think it should be retired for the 13 in 35 and the 22 game streak alone. All time memorable Rockets moments. Although I do think Ralph Sampson should have his # retired first.

 

He didn't even play in all 22 games. The thing about the 22 game streak was that it was a different guy stepping up like Scola or Landry, not one dude dominating . That was pure Rick Adelman's system at it's best.

The best example of one dude dominating is Olajuwon vs Spurs WCF.

No one gets their number retired because of one regular season game. That's a pretty low standard.

 

And Akeem vs the defending champion 1986 Lakers, and Kareem.

Dude had a 128 ORtg compared to the team's 110 ppg average, and this was a fast paced series, so pt per 100 possessions should actually be lower. (Only one other rocket was over 109).
