My little sister got me hooked on this Japanese reality show called Terrace House. It's a romantic version of the Real World shot like Laguna Beach and The Hills. I'm telling you, you start to get invested.. Don't judge me.. I'm hooked!! I recommend Terrace House - Boys and Girls in the City.
Also, I know it's not on Netflix, but True Detective and The Night Of on HBO, and Chance on Hulu are all very good series.
Just gonna put this here since I don't want to clutter the Travelers thread. We finished Continuum, and while enjoyable, it wasn't that great. The social commentary and backstory were better than the time travel journey. They should've focused more on the story of corporations controlling everything and changing that than what it ended up becoming by the end of it. It felt like Lost eventually, where the plot and story is lost as things became more made up.
Binged Maniac in two days. Felt a lot like a Charlie Kaufman film. I enjoyed it very much and you can tell that Jonah Hill and Emma Stone have good chemistry. I'd recommend it.
We've been catching up on Marvel shows, both on and off Netflix: Cloak and Dagger (Freeform) - just ok. way way too slow. too much exposition. too much dumb writing. too much casting of kids way way older than they are supposed to be playing. The Runaways (Hulu) - for the most part see above, however better so far. Haven't finished. But again, too much exposition. Probably because both of these shows are targeting teens/20 year olds. Iron Fist Seasons 2 - couldn't get through it. makes sense it was cancelled. Daredevil 3 - 2 episodes in. Absolutely in for the whole season because Daredevil is awesome... but we are concerned that perhaps the above trends are even creeping in here. How many Vincent Dinofrio soliloquies do we need? At some point in episode 2, the FBI agent asks him a question and says "Ok???", to which Dinofrio responds with a 5 minute story to get to an answer. Nobody cares, and that's completely unrealistic anyway. Also, again only 2 episodes in .... but why'd they move Fisk to the penthouse of basically a public hotel, lol?? Like there's not a place they could keep him confined elsewhere in private?? makes zero sense.
It didn't make any sense but you'll start figuring it out once you get to episode 6 or so. That's when the real action starts too. I don't want to spoil anything for you but the Ray Nadeem guy (FBI agent) is really desperate and the Kingpin can smell the desperation oozing out of his pores. He uses it to his advantage. Again it'll all start making sense the deeper you delve into the 3rd season. I just finished it on Monday.
I thought the best thing by far on that show was Justin Theroux. He was awesome. Theroux and Gidget were great together.
Man, this girl is real, really talented and super smart. She really used Terrace House to spring board her career.
You are the guy with Terrace House right? Maybe you are interested in following contents. Hibana (Comedians) and Erased - should have subtitles
