So basically we trade a non-lotto 2nd year player for a lotto 2nd year player, then 3 second rounders for Ibaka. Seems a bit in our favor.

You like it because it is a fantasy trade. Reality doesn't work that way.

Serge would be a huge upgrade at both 4 or 5. HUGE. (In my best Trump voice.)

Ibaka listed at 6'10 235 and Clint listed at 6'10 240 ( bkref). I'm sure Serge has a bit longer wingspan , but he's not going to do any better banging in the post against C's than clint is.

actually on draftexpress clint is both taller and has a longer wingspan pre-draft.

Man Ibaka (and Vucevic) were hitting everything tonight, mostly well contested shots too.

Something tells me Ibaka likes being a scoring option and perhaps wouldn't welcome a 3 and D role. He takes a lot of post up shots, a lot of mid range, a lot of ISO. For him to fit in here he would have to change his game quite a bit.

Hezonja's shot looked wet. D was meh and he made some poor fouls though.

Ok when we are this close, you're obligated to make a 'now' move that gets you up to that next level. 3 and D perimeter guy or another rim protecting big, that's what we need. Get Serge. For this reason alone

To be fair what they were has no bearing on what they are.

Dekker is currently a far superior player than Henozja. Harrell plus 2nd rounders don't seem like a lot for Ibaka but then he's a FA who has no guarantee of signing with your team and even if he does you're going to overpay him.

Not saying I wouldn't do said trade but it's not as lopsided as you think? I'm sure I'll be proven wrong but which team is going to give up anything great for Ibaka.

I like Clint Capela, but Serge would be an upgrade in every possible way. He is stronger, smarter and more athletic. James Harden would make Serge look even better than he is.

Also, imagine being able to spread the floor with Serge and Ryno behind the three point line, or being able to play Nene and Serge against the big teams like Memphis or the Spurs. If you can get him you go get him, period.

Would rather have Ibaka start and Ryno off bench. Trade Brew and Harrell along with a pick?

Just start them both. This is D'Antoni people. Ryno/Serge would be the starting lineup 100 percent.

Serge at 5 for small ball and 4 with Ryno off bench against big lineups.

Ibaka is a rental, and he can dictate where he wanted to be traded since he can threaten any team to not resign, what did they get for prime Howard who was a superstar in his prime?

Do it! We need Ibaka. He is the best he will ever be and we need to focus on now and not next year.
