Good post. Let's not exaggerate though.

    1) The most valuable franchises aren't all soccer. Of the top 10, seven aren't soccer and the NFL owns the most.

    2) The most marketable athletes aren't all soccer. The 10 top consists of NBA, tennis, golf, and soccer.... and a cricket player, oh my.

    3) There's easily more scoring in football. Taking away FGs (which helps your argument)... each team will still score 2-4 TDs/game. In soccer, four total goals combined is considered high scoring.

Seems you like soccer. Do you like hockey too?

Old skool NBA was as good as the NFL. This age of flopping and primadonnas and biased refs has made me lose some interest in the NBA.

Awesome coaching and teams like the Spurs keeps me going, however.

I find myself watching almost no football anymore. I'll watch a Texans game if it is on locally (which is probably about 60% of the time) and the Super Bowl. Basically won't ever watch college football.

I've gotten into soccer a lot more in the past few years and since then, I just don't find football very exciting. Too many breaks, too many nothing plays, too boring. Not baseball boring but not on the same level as basketball or soccer for me

    1. NFL has 4. Soccer has 3. NBA 2. MLB 1. I would expect the NFL to lose here in he coming years but who knows.

    2. The most marketable athlete on the planet is Ronaldo followed by Messi. Neymar and Suarez would likely round out the big 4. This is where NBA really trounces NFL because football just doesn't have any real marketable athletes on a world wide scale. NBA has Lebron, Curry, Harden, Durant and Russ. Who's the biggest athlete the NFL has? Watt?

    3. Depends on the game, if you're equating TDs to Goals then yes, football has higher scoring but not by much.

    4. Maybe during the playoffs but not really. I grew up with soccer though so I have an affinity for it. It is on the upswing and will start poaching viewers from the NFL in due time, as will MLB and NBA. I firmly believe the NFL has run its course and will decline into either obscolescense, will be a shell of itself or will just crater outright. I was a huge NFL fan and have a ton of Texans gear but have been checked out the last couple. The league seems too greedy and have bait and switched its viewers too much for my liking. Combine that with injuries, Manning and Brady retiring and concussions and you don't have a formula for long standing success .
