I was only sorta kidding. Anderson would be locked up for 3 more years. It's better for the Magic to get something than lose Ibaka for nothing.
Ibaka would be like Gordon on this team a huge piece but not a go to star player. Anderson would still start right so would Serge be happy like Gordon coming off the bench? Damn Gordon and Ibaka as a bench unit would be awesome. So many options.
Ibaka is not coming here to come off the bench behind Anderson...and certainly that's not what you want to do if you hope to resign him lol Btw Serge was on fire tonight (against a poor defense though) but his presence on defense was a non factor in this game, maybe he just doesn't give a **** at this point of their season but still... It would be cool to know if a trade based on Ibaka x Anderson is possible btw (@Jayzers_100 was exploring this scenario few days ago)...it would be really hard to decide what to do imo. Ibaka is still a better player than Ryan, but the contract he can get this summer is a big concern to me. EDIT: or maybe it was @JayZ750 ? I may have messed up the names
Ibaka is not a center . He's probably smaller than Capela . The same complaints about Clint apply to serge .
Ibaka is leaving and Orlando is rebuilding so they need to move him for youth and picks. Brewer, KJ, Harrell maybe a protected first as well seems fair. Losing Harrell makes sense as Ibaka takes all his minutes anyway.
worrell and bullard seemed to be pimping him from the start of the game all the way thru. maybe they've heard something from upstairs
What kind of contract would Ibaka command this summer? Significantly more than Anderson's 20 mil a year?
This package makes a lot of sense. Orlando is going to have to be a motivated seller to accept though.
It would require a lot of things falling into place; but yes the Rockets have a shot. Orlando is going to want to move him at the deadline because he is a free agent and has no interest in staying in Orlando. The Rockets need other teams to not offer a large load of draft picks or prospect for Ibaka. Thus far no one has stepped up and offered a ransom for Ibaka. However when when there are only a few hours until the deadline, a team like Boston could decide to bite the bullet and out bid the Rockets. What is helpful for the Rockets is that Ibaka is supposedly particular about where he will resign.
Not 100% sure about this (someone will eventually correct me later) but i think his max would start around 30x since he should be eligible for the 30% of the salary cap (which is/was projected to be around 103). Bird rights (if we trade for him) can also give him a bigger rise per year i think.
