76ers and Pelicans are in talks for Jahlil Okafor trade

Man, if I were Clutch, I'd start a thread where people could post random trade ideas and not get crucified for it. Name it something clever, like "The thread for Random Trades". It would be legendary. Everyone would use it, and only it for random trades.

 

@Codman leaves that intentionally vague.

So if you stretched him this summer, he would have 10.2m left on his contract, where we would pay 2.05m for the next five years.

Not sure that is something we would want to do.

Trades rumors uh...the trade with the Pelicans was basically done and still nothing...

 

a couple of observations:

1) Cod says in his signature - "FreeBirds are released after the implosion//Help is coming In an unconventional formula. Don't Bite The Hand That Feeds You."

2) forget frazier and holmes - NOP is trading holiday, meaning they're planing on going with frazier as their starting PG. the sixers are trading okafor, meaning holmes becomes the backup center when embiid is out. those two are probably off the table.

3) since the sixers are adding a PG one of their PGs must be available (rodriguez or mcconnell), and since NOP is adding a center, ajinca/asik might be available. obviously we wouldn't want asik's contract... and the sixers probably want to hold onto mcconnell.

4) Ajinca and Rodriguez might be the depth that morey was talking about.

 

fwiw: Codman settles the issue in a GARM thread...the I love Bev one. He says FreeBird is not about matching team names/cities...it is about a type of player situation...caged vs free. And not just Free Agents. Anyone who feels caged like a bird...and wants to be free. It's veterans like Nene, Ryno and Ego...who he mentioned as perfect examples. Notice Nene was never a Bird.
