Soccer has more back-and-forth possessionly, like basketball, but football has more scoring. Some people might like possessions more than scoring.
Football is so repetitive, and then you have 3 drives in a row of 3 and outs and even scoring drives are boring. For playoffs, I'm going with Basketball, Baseball, World Cup, and football is way down on that list.
I personally like that a lot of old NBA players are still around and their brains aren't completely scrambled.
Idk I feel I get more hyped for a Texans game than a rockets game. Maybe because we only get 16 games a year. Basketball is without a doubt my favorite sport though so I guess it's a tie for me.
I have even lesser interest in baseball than football tbh. It's hard enough to keep track of my Rockets and the NBA from here in Australia as it is. I do enjoy some aspects of NFL though, like all the variations on offense and defense, and the speed, precision, power and finesse of the players. Baseball though, I've heard from fans that it is an intensely brainy mental game to understand all the intricacies, so I'm not even going to try. I've heard baseball fans talk shop, and it's like they're speaking another language.
I do not hate football, just do not watch it enough, I watched it during the Texans regular season run and playoff games couple years ago. I do not have enough interest to watch other teams. Basketball is more international. You have a broader viewership there. In Europe Basketball is within Top 3. Soccer 1st.
You have an open mind. Good quality. Football is far more complicated than baseball. Perhaps those fans were talking stats and history. Baseball is the king of numbers and has almost twice the history of basketball and football. It's a very easy sport to understand. Maybe those fans were trying to sound smart or sophisticated. I like the fact there's a game almost everyday.. this helps the summer (winter for Australia) pass by better while football and basketball are at rest.
LOL... you say football is repetitive, yet have baseball #2 on your favorites list?!! Strike 1.... Strike 2... Ball 3 Enjoy your 1-0 futbol game.... it's so awesomely exciting.
Are you butt hurt? Playoff baseball is exciting because the pitcher is trying to keep the game close or clinging to a 1 run game, and then the aspect that baseball has no time constraints, so you could literally come back from 8 runs down with 1 out left and the homerun is the most exciting play in all of sports. Soccer is a chest match and it is beautiful to watch on tv. Again, football especially with commercials, with the repetitive plays, with the dink and dunk is really a boring game.
LMAO. Eggball is the most brain dead sport played by unathletic fatties and dummies. Zero skills, zero tactical nous needed. Just need to be fat, weigh about 25 stone and be open to touch other "adult" men by the groin and other private areas. I can't imagine eggball being much more complicated than painting a wall white.
NFL is overrated to me. I like football but it's more about the hype before the game than the actual game itself. Match ups aren't nearly as important as they are with the NBA. Also with the NBA you can see the best players actually guard each other during the game. If Richard Sherman's playing you won't get to see him guard Tom Brady or vice versa. Another thing in football is the time between possessions. When the team punts the ball, the other team comes on the field then the commercial comes on and then i get distracted. Basketball is nonstop back to back play. I like football but there is no way it should be labeled America's sport over basketball.
No, I'm just laughing at your reasoning. The most exciting play in sports is any type of TD-return in football. Dink and dunks, and field positioning, are THE definition of chess match. Any one of those short routes can explode into 30+ yards or a turnover. I gained more respect for soccer during the past World Cup though. It's NOT as BORING as I thought it was... but better than any of the Big 3?!! LMAO Anyone who likes soccer, should love hockey to death. They are the same sport except one is played on ice.
Basketball and tennis for me. You know the players, win or defeat depending on matchups/surfaces, a lot of action without commercials. NFL the little I have watched seemed fun but itwas too complicated to understand and it had too many ads and game stops. Soccer (football) I only like the international competitions and CL. Games can be very exciting but also incredibly boring as well. Also it has too many hooligans. If not for them maybe I would follow it more.
Basket-Ball, European football and Hockey for me. The NFL playoffs are cool though, I remember 2015 semi-finals with the Seahawks and the Super Bowl was great (this year and last year too of course). I just can't keep track of it, there are too many players, too many commercials. The NBA has as lot of commercials too but it ain't on the NFL level. European soccer is beautiful, no breaks, and I can always count of my team (Real Madrid) being one of the top clubs and competing for many titles every year.
I guess by Big 3 you mean the three conventional US sports? Soccer is bigger than football will ever be and it's widening its lead. The most valuable franchises in the world are all soccer clubs and the most marketable stars in the world are all soccer players. I think the easiest sport to swallow is basketball. It's the most straightforward and requires the least amount of work to understand. Soccer, baseball and football all have more of a chess match style to them. I do love football guys that make fun of soccer being low scoring when football basically made a touchdown worth 7 points instead of 1 so that simpler minds wouldn't be bored by it.
