Looks a lot like this other exciting, passing, finishing, shooting, driven high-flying beast who also got a huge amount of DNP-CDs in his 2nd year like Hezonja. It helps the comparison if you imagine these highlights are of a white guy Most ppl would say..."Definitely a lot of talent, but there's some red flags with him." But you're acting like he is proving himself on the court right now, despite a really crappy 2nd year. Who knows,,,he might pan out. Someone will take a flyer on him. But something is wrong with him. Top 5 picks don't get DNPs like this for no reason.
"High"lights are cool and all, but stats show, and overwhelmingly prove hezonja is a terribly bad basketball player.
We need a man who score 20 plus in each game. How about Towns from wolves or sign Hawks Paul Millsaps. It is much stronger
Wow. I remember the Rolling Stones singing in "Start Me Up" that "you make a dead man come," but I don't think a PhD in Animal Husbandry could help someone specialize in beating off dead horses. Maybe alternative lyrics to "Wild Horses"? "Dead, dead horses / We'll beat'em off today...."
You gonna mark Hezonja as Terrence shows how defective your analysis is. TWill couldn't shoot to save his life. Had terrible bball iq. And simply didn't have the internal fire to be great that Hezonja has. If I were you id delete the comparison.
How bout yall stop arguing like little 4 year olds and just post rumors ot info on serge and the rockets
When they put him at the 4 alongside a legit 5 and tell him he has to shoot the 3. Cody is a great talent, a winner, very driven, smart, and a team guy. He's playing great doing what they've asked of him in Charlotte. Don't forget Charlotte is a basketball player graveyard. Many players have gone there to die. Their record for developing youngsters is almost as horrendous a Orlando's. Cody Zeller would be a big time upgrade to Capela in this system. I'd take him in a heartbeat.
And Hezonja's skill set is better fit for Rockets than Dekker IMO. The only issue is attitude and work ethic. Definitely red flags but would take chance if on the cheap.
What analysis am I making? I'm not making an analysis at all. You are. which is perfectly fine. So, in a nutshell: You are saying you know more than two Orlando coaches. I am saying I don't know more than two Orlando coaches. But we can both agree that DNPs are enough of a red flag to lower you bid to Orlando. Just like it was a red flag when the Nets stopped playing TWill his second year. I've been a fan long enough of the NBA to know that those highlights of Hezonga's rookie year are just highlights. The lowlights are he isn't even playing right now. I understand how it is fun for fans like you to speculate and say the team and coach are stupid, and can't see what you can see...but I'm sure they actually do see what you see, and are impressed with potential. But they also see what you and I can only guess at, because we don't see practices. And all the evidence that we have to go by now are his DNPs. I'm sure they hope he snaps out of whatever funk or attitude problem he has and starts being smarter about seizing the opportunity given to him, and not waste it, like he appears to be doing. I have absolutely no idea if he will pan out or not. Headcases are hard for me to gauge. But I do get how you would expect a lot out of him. I just caution you not to trade too much for him.
You just said Zeller is not a 5, but would be better fit for Rockets instead of Capela, who is definitely a 5. And why, just because he can shoot the 3?!?
Nope. Very plainly, Zeller is a much better paint and rim defender than Capela. Zeller is a 4/5 in the same mold as Ibaka. But he's still a much better 5 than Capela is.
I'm not sure why Mario isn't killing it yet. He was supposed to be Orlando's Ben Simmons or Joel Embiid. Their franchise player. The guy that would make the tanking all worth it. He just hasn't panned out, but he definitely had 100x the promise that Terrence Williams had entering the league. Mario was great, and I just don't get why he's not really good right now. Orlando is just really badly constructed right now. They have a lot of good "individual" players like Vooch, Serge, Gordon, Fournier and stuff, but it's not working with Green and Biyombo and others in the mix. Also, Cody Zeller is so much better than Clint Capela and would kill in this offense. I'd love to trade Capela straight up for Zeller if he were healthy. Him and Harden in the PNR zzzzz I'M SCHLEEP. edit: Actually nah, I'm tripping sort of. Zeller is good, but I don't know if he makes a huge impact on Houston's offense. Charlotte has died though since Zeller has gone down though.... but idk.
I like Zeller, he doesn't rebound well enough to be a complete player at C, he isn't scoring enough, and he has not made one three in his entire NBA career. Not sure how well spacing would be with him as a PF. But Zellers future wasn't my real point, my point being, you noted he'd be a sure fire star a couple years ago. You did it again with Hezonja, perhaps relax the strong statements on how younger players careers will play out.
Fwiw codman mentioned something about rox doing their due diligence in this thread. Btw DM or rox FO if you're reading this and you do end up trading for ibaka pls pls pls get hezonja too. his own GM disses him thats guy's stock is even lower than Brewer lol get that guy on the team asap.
I have never heard of this "reporter" but maybe Morey is trying to trade for Ibaka. Maybe we'll hear something from Stein or Woj eventually. It is all speculation at this point.. Would love to have Ibaka here. He's a stretch 4 and despite people saying his defense hasn't been as good, he is a better rim protector than anyone currently on the roster. Shoots 3's and can defend? Would be a great fit.
