Should we add him to the All Selfish team in the Dish? Help me out here...How many past top 5 picks like him that got this many DNP-CDs in their 2nd year and went on to be nasty good on another team or for another coach on the same team. I'm sure there are some,,,just can't think of any right now.
Well in the "changing landscape of the NBA" where it's okay for guys to average 6 turnovers a game now and on and on, doesn't Hezonja fit your criteria as a first for everything???????????????? You asked for that one.
Hezonja would be a good get. Do get the Twill vibe a bit. IIRC he was above average defensively when playing significant min overseas.
Orlando has sucked for years. They've butchered the development of their talent. They just gave away Oladipo and Sabonis for a useless rental of Ibaka. And then signed Fournier, a role player, to a mega deal. And you're wondering why Hezonja ain't playing? Yes, Hezonja has an attitude. So did Kobe, Jordan, and many others.
I'm off the Hezonja bandwagon now that Jopat is clearly on it. Jopat is not always wrong, like DD, but the Rubio fascination combined with Harden degradation is just unappealing.
Is he better than Trez, Dekker, and somebody else we can sign with the other 18 million? That's the point you're missing. He's getting 20 mil in the open market, you realize that right? It's called displacement. As for low IQ--no watch him, he does have a low IQ. I'd gladly take him on our team, I just don't think we can afford to re-sign him nor is he worth $20M at his age. I'd rather spend it elsewhere. But i do agree he's better than both, but not better than both and what $18 million brings us on the open market(for example that's Eric Gordon + another 5 million dollar player). He's not better than that.
Look at my posts. I have compared Harden favorably to Kobe and Jordan many times. And I've faded the heat for it too.
People keep talking about cap room, but how likely are we to actually get someone as good as or better than Jibaca in free agency with this money?
There isn't one. They want to keep Blake, but if they wanted to dump him they would get much better returns Han ryno
Yep. And to open up enough cap room to sign a free agent as good as Ibaka (i.e., dumping Brewer), they'll have to trade away future assets anyway. Why not just deal away assets now, have Ibaka for a playoff push this season, then still be able to re-sign him this summer with full Bird rights AND have the full MLE ($8.4 million) to use on one or more additional rotation pieces?
I'm not as high on Hezonja as you, but I'd be interested in taking a flyer on him. With 3 picks expected in the 25-45 range, and if there isn't a better value on the market, I'd consider moving that first rounder for Mario.
This is a bad boy right here. This is rookie campaign stuff. Handle? - check Passing? - check 3-ball? - check Finishing? - check Defense? - check Bball IQ? - check Passion/driven? - check Attitude? - checkmate This is a nasty boy.
