Wilson wants to start Denver wants to stay in the race. Swap Ariza and Kj for him Win win Chandler>>>>>>ariza
Wilson can start and put up big numbers in this offense. He also plays D too. Better than ariza anybody anyone we have on our bench behind Gordon Might be get 3rd best person on this team potentially
I could go for James Johnson of Miami. I would say Nerlens Noel does much the same as Capela which could be duplication of the same thing; but Capela averages 23 mins a game. Games run 48 mins. I do expect Capela to be pushed to 30 mins/game in the playoffs......out of necessity. How will Capela respond to the extra mins in the playoffs?? Nene is there for big bruisers with no back to back games in the playoffs. That probably will help. Both Capela & Nerlens are good at help defense & that's where they get much of their blocks....same as JSmoove. Smoove was bad at one on one defense last year while with Houston. I could make Capela/Nerlens tandem on court at the same time work. Where Asik/Howard didn't work, I believe the twin towers of Nerlens/Capela could be trouble for opposing teams. Howard/Asik vs Portland in the first rd was the only time those 2 players really tried to make that deal work. If we recall, Terrence Jones was being destroyed by LMA. McHale didn't have faith in DMo (nor should he have back then). Asik was inserted next to D12 and it worked defensively. The issue is D12 limited shooting range & insistence of posting up.....left little room for Asik to work along the weak side baseline. Passes to Asik skipped off his vice-grip hands whether the pass was low or high. Both Capela & Nerlens have great soft hands allowing for capabilities for bounce & lob passes while working the baseline. Marc Gasol & ZBo worked together until 14/15 as Gasol had free throw distance range which allowed ZBo to work underneath. What broke up that tandem working together was in 14/15 teams learned to outrun to 2 bigs up and down the court. Not a problem with Caps & Noel. They run like Greyhounds. Caps & Nerlens would provide awesome defense as well. Each would cover the others back. A Marc Gasol could get Capela on his heels; but Nerlens would be near by lurking.....and vice-versa. Capela & Nene have better range shooting than people realize.....if they don't want Nerlens shooting. Nerlens could work underneath Capela or Nene as ZBo did with Gasol. Fact of the matter is if you want to beat the Warriors or Cavs.....you better have multiple wings around 6'5" or greater & interior defenders who can patrol the perimeter as well. If im the Cavs or Warriors I would force Curry or Irving on a Tyson Chandler type. The idea is getting that big on an island. The big usually favors retreating which allows Irving/Curry enough space to get off a 3-pt shot. If the big plays close Curry/Irving go by them drawing help defense which opens up a 3-pt shooter. Caps & Noel are quick enough to recover compared to most true centers. Fighting to get over a screen or going under the screen is more of an issue with Curry than Irving I must say.....but an issue with both as both (Cavs/GSW) teams work it much the same in the playoffs. But the issue is moot, if the price for Nerlens is too high.
Anyone else seeing what Yogi Ferrell is doing with the mavs and they got this kid from the d league and he is the main reason they are beating teams right now. What are our scouts doing?
Nerlens is ten times the defender Capela is. C'mon guys, watch the games, and watch the defensive end of the court. Scout accurately. Don't compare pick and roll dunks and say they are about the same. It's not even close defensively. Not even close.
Noel has the better instincts, timing, and potential. Capella has the better attitude and work ethic from afar. It's the age old question... Can a stable and competent organization get the most out of player X? Cousins, Noel, Stephenson, Smith etc the list goes on
I will grant you, Noel has character question marks. He is a risk. Price has to be right. Can't overpay in trade for him. But his talent level is another planet from Capela.
Ryan Anderson + 2017 1st for Ibaka Orl que his former player with his stupid contract and we get a real PF
The Woj interview revealed to me that he was no Yao or Battier in terms of intelligence or character, but he didn't seem like a complete douche either, which is why I think that you can mold these types of players. Cousins on the other hand will always be that way. As for the price, I think that it prob takes Dekker + protected pick. You would then have to trade Capella for a promising wing.
Anderson, Capela, Dekker, Rights to Llull, Rights to Gentile, 2017 1st for Cousins and Casspi Obviously, this is unlikely, but it's our best chance to get another star. Harden / Gordon Beverley Ariza ? / Casspi Cousins / Harrell - Nene
Aside from already knowing and loving D'Antoni's system, Noel also has more stamina and plays with a chip on his shoulder. Better athleticism, experience, length, rim protection, already bought in to MDA, superstar potential trumps the perceived better character off the court advantage by Capela.
