Paul George is definitely the perfect player to replace Ariza with better shooting and defense. Ariza just isn't good enough offensively and defensively for the minutes and shots he gets. He is better coming off the bench in any team.
I'm not disagreeing with this I just don't think it equals championship and doesn't match with our scoring philosophy. If we can get a D PF/C for a decent price then of coarse
We're 3 players away. 1) Backup playmaking point; 2) Legit rim protecting/ rebounding Center; 3) 3-D wing/ Brewer replacement.
Nothing guarantees a championship for anyone, all you can do is be one of the final 4 and hope it breaks right for you. DD
IMO upgraded rim protection is more important than improved perimeter defense. A rim protector who can also defend the perimeter would be golden. I like Wilson Chandler too by the way.
I second Ibaka, if he works on some post moves before the playoffs start. Doubtful that we can get him from Orlando for anything less than a King's ransom. When Gordon and Anderson are shooting well, couple that with Harden's normal contribution WHILE cutting down his 5+ turnovers we have a great shot at winning any game. Fans who've followed Gordon and Anderson are already aware of their constant injury bug that limits their games played per season to about 50-65. If just one of those players are out in a game our chances of winning games falls pretty dramatically. Outside of Harden we don't really don't have star players, Gordon is our next best player.
Jimmer fredette, Taj Gibson, and Wilson Chandler. Could all be obtainable and help this team . That could atleast get us pass the spurs maybe, but a toss up with the warriors, i still see the warriors overcoming that roster as well.. Hard to beat 3 superstar teams. lol ie miami heat.

Not sure Rockets have the bullets for 2 trades (Gibson & Chandler). Better to make one big trade and Jimmer the other 2 positions. The trick is which two positions get Jimmered and which position is acquired by trade. Option 1: Nerlens Noel (trade KJ, Ennis, Dekker, rights to Llull, 1st & 2nd) Lance Stephenson (sign) Gabe York (sign) *That's a potential superstar center with elite rim protection/steals/perimeter defense (Noel) plus 3-D wing + playmaker + intimidator (Stephenson) and another scorer with over 40% for 3's (York). Option 2: Jimmy Butler (trade Ariza, Harrell, rights to Gentile, 1st & 2nd) / Wilson Chandler (trade Ariza, KJ, 1st) Larry Sanders (sign) Jimmer Fredette (sign) Option 3: Serge Ibaka (trade Bev, KJ, Dekker, rights to Llull, 1st) Jamaal Franklin (sign) Mario Chalmers (sign)
