When it comes to trying to sign Gordon Hayward... unless he comes out and demands a trade or is rumored to dislike the team, he ain't leaving since the new CBA basically allows him to receive a significantly bigger contract if he re-signs with the same team.

Wilson Chandler is honestly going to get paid huge bucks when he becomes a FA. He fits a criteria that many teams are looking for in the current NBA style of shooting 3s. Ariza is getting old but honestly, I don't see us getting an upgrade until maybe when Paul George becomes a FA in 18' since Hayward is in a good situation and he seems to love it there. We might be able to pick up Danilo Gallinari if Nuggets want to keep Chandler instead.

I think this thread is a knee jerk reaction to a horrible loss. But the bright side is MDA should have the team's undivided attention. The Rox have to learn how to close.

    Yeah, he's a two-way player.

KJ might not be the answer, but he should be playing. Ariza is averaging 35 min/game. That's unnecessary.

Team needs fresh legs, rest, and more of an inside presence.

I agree. He never gets injured so you assume you can play him nonstop, but he's MUCH better when rested. Completely different player. He'll be fine for the playoffs - that's all that really matters.

This team isn't ready to compete as currently constructed for a title run.....They are lacking in the proper players to run the system and play with Harden. Chandler (Wilson) and Chandler(Tyson) would be great immediate starters that could make an impact on this team.

MDA needs to have a serious talk with the small forwards.

While I agree that SF should be addressed in the near future, maybe in this summer's FA market or draft, I disagree that Ariza is on some rapid decline. The guy's just exhausted. All these games, and all these road games, AND all these back-to-backs -- in every case, the most any team has played this season -- have just worn him out. His game logs show that:

Trevor will be fine and will bounce back within the next week or so.

So relax, Chicken Littles. The sky is not falling.

Tons of teams missed on Jonathan Simmons. We can't beat ourselves up about that.

Maybe not falling. But there are cracks. We are only 2 games ahead in the loss column from losing home court in the first round. I am more interested in the game Tuesday the 7th. That is three days rest. If we don't shoot high 30 percent from 3 and play some D then this team shot their wad in December and will be a 500 team the rest of the way.

Wilson Chandler is a worse 3 point shooter than Ariza over the season, the past four seasons, and over his career. He's slightly younger, but has had major surgery on both hips, and he's signed for more than $12M per season for two more years after this season. I don't see him as an upgrade given the extra year on his deal, a slight downgrade in shooting, plus the extra $5M/year to pay him. After two hip operations (the last of which caused him to miss all of last season), he seems much older than a typical player about to turn 30. If we can unload Brewer in the trade, I would trade for Chandler. If the trade retains Brewer, I'd pass.

    This is a fact.

Bazemore (lulz) set the bar in the Summer at 4yrs at $17.5m/yr

As the brilliant CFer who is quoted above was saying, Ariza was exhausted. He and Nene are the old guys, and Trevor plays as much as just about anyone. That brutal schedule caught up with him over the last 9-10 games. He'll be fine now that the games are more spread out for the rest of the year.

Rockets would get worse if they made this trade.

No trades, just sign Ibaka or Gallo in FA

Rested Ariza is a perfectly fine SF for us . The problem is keeping him rested . Yes he's declining , but he should be fine for this playoff run assuming he has his legs .

Onto the problem , Brewer can only give you 10 min a night at most . This is on average . Some nights, our second group will perform well enough and it won't matter if we play brew with them . But against legit second units brew is a huge negative. We have to bring back the starters earlier than we want to and it effects James' rest too .

Try playing Harrell at backup 4 and slide Dekker to the wing . We'll have to play differently , but we do so already .

Get Ariza down to 30 mpg and watch him become a 40% 3 pt shooter again who is lethal from the corner.

In the playoffs his experience will pay off . We've got to improve the forward position as a whole , not just SF
