From everything I've heard, Harden has really stepped up and worked on his leadership skills. The 4th quarter in this game though was just one of those games where everyone was shell shocked at the comeback. No one was focusing, no one could hit threes. I don't think Harden could do much, but he should at least be taking the final shots.
I agree with everything you said, but can the Rockets get us a leader and it not cause chemistry issues with Harden? I have a feeling it would since Harden is considered the guy here.
So if its a later date, I could see your point if people were bringing up this game. Im just saying it should be surprising to you that people are upset.
Yes, Ariza and other guys were all bad, but let's not forget that Harden disappeared in the late 4Q again. He has been absolutely terrible in the clutch situations this season, and this is not how MVP plays down the stretch, period. Games like this make even the Rockets fan like me to think that Harden probably doesn't deserve that award; not because he played poorly overall, but his clutch performance has been sorely lacking this season.
Well, a leader doesn't necessarily need to be the best player or the best scorer..i mean, Draymond Green as been the leader of the Warriors more than Curry in these past two years. He's the one who makes them a tough/harsh team like they are, not certainly Curry.
What are you talking about? Steve Kerr has Golden State hacking the S#!+ out of DeAndre Jordan right now.
Well, deserved or not (i don't even have all that interest in that at this point), you can be sure he's not going to win it if we're going to get sucked and/or overtaken by the group of Clippers/Grizzlies/Jazz/Thunder. In that case Westbrick is going to win it...and he would also deserve it cause the Thunder are not as good as the Rockets imo. And tbh you can also make a case for Durant for the mvp...i would really hate to see him win it, you have no idea...but he's really playing a terrific season.
MDA: “Once you turn it off, like “OK, we won,’ we thought we won, you can’t turn it back on. We really messed up royally. Tough to swallow.” Who do they think they are? The Golden State Warriors? Thought they won after the third quarter?
MDA should maybe consider calling timeouts like other coaches do when things start going terribly. But hey...maybe that's silly. Should probably hoist more early 3's.
Yeah, I've got few guys ahead of Harden in the MVP race right now. No way you have Harden at #1 with the way this team (and Harden himself, to be honest) has been playing in the last few weeks.
As annoying and frustrating as this loss was, it is absolutely ridiculous for you people to question the leadership of the guy who is most likely going to win MVP of the league. 19 games over .500 sitting at the third seed at this point is still one of the best seasons the Rockets have put together. Considering the disaster that was last year coupled with the fact that we have played more road games and games in general than any other team, games like tonight are bound to happen. No one expected this team to be sitting at the third seed. Most analysts couldn't see this team winning more than 41 to 43 games and even the most optimistic people (who aren't complete homers anyway) on this board projected this team to win maybe 48 games. BUT GUESS WHAT....Team is still on pace to win somewhere between 54 and 57 games. I guarantee, if anyone knew they'd be as successful as they have been, that they'd have been ecstatic, even if they knew they weren't going to be serious contenders. For those of you who got carried away by the win streaks, you guys were just setting yourself up for this sort of frustration. Don't get me wrong, the win streaks were great and to some degree even inspiring. However, even in the midst of those back to back win streaks I never thought this team was truly great. At best, I thought to myself that maybe if everything goes the Rockets way, as in they shoot lights out, play acceptable defense, and get a little lucky, the Rockets could beat pretty much anyone on a given night. However, realistically speaking, this team is more than likely not a championship caliber, simply because there isn't enough talent or defense, and when playing elite teams in the playoffs, teams like the Rockets have time and again hit a wall. While in some ways it is disappointing and sobering to accept that, we can definitely take joy in the success we have had overall this season. That in and of itself is something to be happy about and something to build on. For now, enjoy the ride...even though the end result will more than likely not lead to a championship. Though I would love to be wrong
