Honestly Ariza has been a savior in many situations but after a loss like that you gotta let us b**** and rant. Still the dude is a fish out of water on many aspects of offense
Just hoping they can package him some kind of way at this point. The SF position is bad. Dekker is struggling too. No good players right now at that position.
Good point. MDA apparently doesn't like hacking. Once Hardaway was going off the smart thing to do would have been hacking Howard.
Done with this overrated starter... he needs to be on the bench in Corey Brewer role and Brewer needs to be in Philly on the bench.
I don't really know what to say about Trevor, i'm a fan but he's really playing terrible lately, no defense (which can be said by anyone though...) and soo many ugly and bad decisions with the ball...but even then, shouldn't this be something for MDA to take care of? I mean, he's the coach, if a player is doing what he's not supposed to do...that's what i don't like about being soo player friendly, there must be a limit, or else you're oging to enter in McHale territory where everyone does what the **** he wants...you'll never see Ariza taking soo many bad decisions with Pop, Bud, Stevens, SVG...
He does have his clutch moments and I don't mind him taking that shot there. It feels like more times than not he hits that big game tying shot.... but his defense has fallen off. Hardaway looked like Durant out there and shame on the coaches for letting him get exposed like that for the entire quarter. At some point you gotta call TO and try something else. Double him if you have to. Don't let some scrub beat you like that.
You can't possibly expect Ariza to be a star on the defensive side of the ball every damn game. Its also not his fault he's playing for a team that has only 1 philosophy and that's shoot 3s and more 3s. He's doing what's asked of him. He's not a 40% 3 point shooter either he's okay he's always been just okay. Y'all expect way to much. That being said it's 100% obvious this team isn't winning a championship this year and they probably wont even make it out of the 1st round. I would look to trade him and try to collect a young valuable piece like Noel or something like that.
I don't mind him taking open shots or good shot selections... but when he tries to do too much he's awful.. he has no handles or drives
I don't even want to watch another game now. Looking at the losses ww have had defines exactly how we will lose in the first or second round of playoffs.
Ariza's role is to stand on the 3 point line, get a wide open look, pump fake so he puts himself into a worse position with the defense and also takes himself out of rhythm, then shoots a less open 3 point shot. I would say he's playing his role 100% perfectly and to a tee.
"The Rockets dont put pressure on their opponents like the elite teams do when up" - Brent Barry. :fire emojis: :truth emoji:
Too bad the only team that only wants Freeza is the Lakers and they probaly would want him as a freebie. For a starter to play 35+ minutes a game, averaging 1.5 FT attempts is just a stat for a non-starter. He is probaly the easiest player on the Rockets to defend because he doesn't go to the basket. I believe he plays not to get hurt or playing for longevity.
Dream scenario is the Cavs get really frustrated with their team and decide to ship Love for our top defensive role players like Ariza, Beverley, Capela, and we throw in Brewer to match salaries.
