Your trash for my trash. Let's swap trash.

Desperate, underachieving teams make desperate, underachieving moves.

It's been such a quiet trade season. Teams are trading players less and less every year. That used to be a big part of the NBA.

I know. Who targets Miles freaking Plumlee....and for a while?

lol Early indications give a C- verdict for the Hornets. Why make the move at all???

edit: btw, I don't care about the Bucks at all. I only watch them for Giannis. If a genie granted me 3 wishes, one of them would be to make Giannis a Rocket.

Actually, in reading that the Hornets have wanted Plumlee for awhile, the real question is: Why, God? WHY?

Well now THAT is interesting, we could use him as a backup Stretch 4.

the Bucks have 5 centers. 5! LMAO.

Most probably will make another trade in the next weeks. Henson or Monroe has to go.

Also there's some little logic behind Charlotte. Except for the $ , Plumlee should be a good enough fit. He's not useless. He set good screens and is a great PNR roll man. Should be good with Kemba.
Traded two trash players on "good" contracts for a better player on a trash contract.

The deal isn't terrible for the Hornets.

Get rid of two perennial losers in Hibbert/Hawes. Pickup a decent backup C at what will VERY soon be a decent price at 12 million a year.

12 million is the new 5 million in today's NBA.

Ehh I actually think that there is a little more risk for Charlotte, but also more upside. $12,000,0000 a year isn't much at all in modern NBA dollar terms. If Plumlee is able to be a back end of the rotation big, he will earn his money.

For Milwaukee, they move a contract and player they don't really care much for. The issue is what/who can they get on the free agent market for that money.

    Imagine a team of:

    Curry/Curry
    Dragic/Dragic
    Morris/Morris
    Millsap/Millsap
    Gasol/Gasol

    With a bench of:
    Lopez/Lopez
    Holiday/Holiday

I am guessing the Plumlee and Zeller bros don't make the team.

    It's pretty bad.

I mean, I get that there is still a wee bit of potential upside for Miles Plumlee. Just the smallest of potential that he can maybe turn into something like his brother in the right setting.

But all indications are that's very unlikely to happen at this point.

$12.5 million isn't what it was 2 years ago, but you also can't afford to have that contract on your team, with 3 more years guaranteed, while still fielding a great team.

But more than anything, it's the deal itself that is just bad. The Bucks had no use for Plumlee and he had a contract that was going to be hard to move. Even if the Bobcats wanted him, thinks he has upside and will play into his contract, it doesn't mean you just go ahead and give the Bucks immediate salary cap relief. It has the feel that they were out negotiated. LIke they asked for a draft pick, but were told sorry we have a better offer, so they quickly caved.
