Derrick Williams on the block. Not a great player by any means but we wouldn't have to give up much at all and he could help bolster the bench, only issue is Miami want to sign Okara White so will only take picks. Probably doesnt really help us much, but just posting it here.
Anyone know when Bobby's contract is eligible to be traded? I'm guessing nothing happens at least until then
Can't be traded the rest of the season. Buyout/waived if removed (salary is low enough). http://www.hoopsrumors.com/bobby-brown
Should have just kept Beasley then. Both are similar type volume scorers and stuck between 3 and 4 spots.
That's what half of the board has been saying all year. Beasley could've easily got 17 and 8 a night, EASILY. But we just had to have Ennis because Steve Nash sweated on him once in a gym in Canada
If your goal is to sell this idea, you're going to have to a lot better than capitalizing the player's last name and seemingly taking the bait on my "he went to a major college program ---> was drafted high -----> so, yeah, that means he can play" expectation bias that people get.
I suspect there's more to the story than we know- namely that Beasley was a problem in the locker room or had beef with Harden. It's very unlike Morey to give up an asset for nothing (unless he was really high on Ennis).
He must've been high with Ennis, there's no logic to that trade. Dmo was not yet under contract and we had four pgs on the roster at the time. I would rather have Prigs and Beasley than the absolute zero we are currently getting from Ennis.
Regarding Beasley he just doesn't fit this offense. He is a ISO player. He likely wouldn't fit the team philosophy. Also they wanted to rid the offense of mid-range almost entirely. Also, we are running Harden at the point, and needed another PnR player. We went with the cheapest route possible because Harden will average 38mpg. It's not that hard to understand. He didn't fit with the philosophy and is a horrrrible defender.
Everyone on this team with the exception of Ariza and Bev are horrible defenders. Maybe Capela when he's in game shape is almost a plus defender. Beasley is a play-maker, that fits every philosophy. Harden is already playing an absorbent amount of minutes a night and Ennis isn't contributing to alleviate that in any way shape or form. At least if Beas was still here he could take pressure off Harden with his scoring. You're telling me you would rather have nothing over instant offense and rebounding?
Brewer is playing 16 minutes a game and averaging 4 ****ing points, yeah I think Chandler can make due with those mins
It's not nothing but rather injury insurance. Pg is the most important position in mda offense. He is instant offense, but for himself only. He goes to work while everyone stands around. Not what this system is anymore. Under McHale it worked fine. I don't like ennis, but I understand it. Took a flyer on a rook contract for injury insurance at the cost of net negative player. His defence is worst than anyone on this roster including ryan. I get it tho. People get mesmerized by the flashy pull ups and look at ennis rotting the bench. But it wasn't a stupid move and he likely wouldn't even be a rotation player under mda. He's not some instant rebounder either. I agree it was a lost trade but it did make sense and it's not really a loss in terms of production.
