Ibaka is definitely not his listed age. Africa is dubious when it comes to actual age. There is a reason why Ibaka has been on the decline instead of peaking during his "prime".

He is just not a good fit here, and the money he makes will at least be doubled.

Illyosova would be a better fit, and easier target, than Ibaka.

For sure you wouldn't give up on our young players on great contracts for a declining player who would for sure cap us for a long time.

Its not like Orlando is full of big name stars they can pay Ibaka his money if they thought he was worth it

Some of that vdeo is lack of respect for a young Ibaka...testing him. Other is just bad Cleveland players, post Lebron, no:? Is that 35 yr old Antawn Jamison and an Alonzo Gee sighting getting blocked twice.

And I'd again like to point out that he was 6th in the league in blocks last year, there with Anthony Davis and Porzingis. That's the close to same number as Whiteside has this year, dropping from 3.7 last year to 2.0. League is moving blockers out of the lane.

AirCongoTV has all his blocks on youtube, btw

Here's all his blocks in the playoffs last year

Here's his Top 10 Blocks of 2016 (watch who they are against, as well)

Here's all his block in November this year

All blocks in January last year

Ibaka is BETTER than both Trez and Dekker. He's basically both of them in one player and extra. You're talking as if both Trez & Dek are in the same league as Serge Ibaka. A rim protector who can hit 3's and run the court is basically what this team needs. I'm not sure what your expectations are, but giving up 2 young developing role players for a veternan difference maker on defense with 3pt range is a no brainer. Low basketball IQ must be something you just conjured up for the heck of it

Ibaka has amazing timing and now a rep to get favorable calls on those blocks.
He is a decent post defender as well and would be a great fit as the starting 5 in our system.

    What do they even want?

Essentially this. People get caught up in salary flexibility a little too much when it comes to players. Don't get me wrong it increases their value, but only as an asset not on the court. The dollar amount each make or presumptively will make only comes to mind if they are comparable players going forward.

Dekker and Montrezl are not comparable with Ibaka. Your hoping in 2 years trez becomes Ibaka on offense and a third of his defense. That would be a huge win for trez and likely his ceiling.

I don't want to trade dekker because it would make us thin on the wing because we need brewer for salary matching. Dekker hopefully continues improving his shot and in the meantime plays the "brewer" role of hustle and transition with bad 3pt shooting.

Tbh i've no problem to admit this, i'm one of them lol, but that's cause i want the team to be in the position to make the best moves possible to win going forward, and i'm not sure (let's say...) this would be one. If I thought this would be that kind of move sure, why not...it's just that yeah, not sure about this, especially with Ryan making 20x...but than again, if you can get him for cheap (while also dumping Brewer) i'm all for it, i just think this is not going to happen anyway because someone will probably offer a good package, and for Ibaka as today i'm not willing to enter a bid war or something close to it.

I truly believe it would be

    Harden
    Bev
    Ariza
    Ryno
    Ibaka
    As the starting 5.

    3 guard rotation of
    Harden/bev/gordon

    3 front court rotation of
    Ryno/ibaka/capela

    2 wing rotation of
    Ariza/dekker

with multiple variations of small ball lineups

That's an 8 man rotation. NeNe gets spot minutes here and there Vs bruisers and I would target one more wing for depth.

Flexibility is important and a staple in moreys tenure. But as seen by this past offseason it appears he can't keep waiting for tomorrow to hopefully come. Especially with the new cba it's going to be hard to snag stars from other teams via free agency.

Harden is in his prime right now, more knows that. He can't waste time with flexibility hoping something falls in his lap like harden. He flat out does not have the assets to compete with the big dogs anymore via trade like Boston, Phoenix, Philly, Minnesota etc.. So he has to do what he can to constantly improve the team now.

My biggest concern is the increased value of picks under the new cba landscape. About the only way you can get a star now is to draft one. Trades and free agent signings will become more scarce.

I would offer up brewer/montrezl/1st for Ibaka. But only after I exerted all efforts trying to get Gallo with brewer/dekker/1st.

Both players are borderline all stars who are under appreciated and forgotten about. Kinda like, you know, Gordon and Anderson.

We are going to have to build a pistons type team of flat out quality everywhere and hope Harden carries us to a chip.

We won't be able to acquire Butler, George, cousins, hell even Melo.

The odds of us getting another superstar is slim IMHO

Lol at people that say Ibaka looks like he is older so he must be. By that logic Greg Oden was drafted at 60 years old. Makes sense why he couldn't stay healthy.

Most athletes reach their peak at age 34. Ibaka is 27 years old, he'll reach his peak around 33 - 36. I think he can still play, and if he plays with James Harden he is going to play good because they will get a long well.

If this happens, would we consider bringing this name back?

Jk of course, but it's funny they even have the same color scheme as OKC.

I meant no offense when I pointed out how hysterically bad your Draymond Green comparison was.

The Rasheed comparison is both in style and in situation. No comparison is perfect, but one is certainly much more accurate than the other.
