Rash, poor decision causing US serviceman and civilian death. Give you an idea about Trump priority and style. The military should get used to it.

The U.S. military is looking into whether more civilians were killed during the weekend raid on al Qaeda in Yemen, Reuters reported.

U.S. Navy Seal William "Ryan" Owens died in the raid, along with 14 militants.

U.S. Central Command said in a statement that a team investigating the incident had "concluded regrettably that civilian non-combatants were likely killed." Children may have also been among some of the civilians killed during the raid.

Central Command said it is looking to find out "if there were any still-undetected civilian casualties in the ferocious firefight."

U.S. military officials also said that the raid was approved by President Trump without sufficient intelligence or ground support.

On Saturday, SEAL Team 6 raided a headquarters for al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, which is considered the most dangerous al Qaeda branch.

In addition to Owens's death, three service members were injured in the raid. A fourth service member was also injured when a U.S. military aircraft assisting in the operation experienced a hard landing at a nearby location.

The raid resulted in the capture of information that “will likely provide insight into the planning of future terror plots,” Centcom said.

Oh brother. This guy is endangering American troops in addition to civilians on the ground. I'm glad that my nephew is now out of the military. I would hate to have him be forced to serve under this Commander.

Politicizing an American soldiers death. The left sinks lower and lower.

calling out problems that endanger and cost lives is exactly what needs to happen. It is a matter of rising to action, not sinking lower.

Well how far do you want to go back. Billy Clinton had a chance with good intel to wipe out Bin Laden, he didn't. Bush took us to the middle east and Jr. really took us in. Obama finally killed a half-dead Bin Laden but too little too late. But he failed miserably in stopping the JV team before they reached Pro level let alone Varsity and how many deaths and injuries has resulted? So who does or doesn't make decisions with or without good or bad intelligence?

All that said, OP is full of ****.

I don't have problems calling out any of that even though some of it isn't entirely accurate. It was called out at the time.

NYT reported that this operation was turned down by the Obama Admin as being too risky.

Hope the intel they gathered was worth it.

Military made that statement for a point.

Maybe some in the military want to get Trump to rethink about too rash of a decision?

I'm very doubtful that Trump would change his style. And I hope the military keep on repeating the point if and when he repeat this way of using the military again.

WTF does this mean. Trump is not smart enough to come up with the idea of the raid. The military must have told Trump that this was an option.

Trump now gets to make the call to U.S. Navy Seal William "Ryan" Owens's family. Welcome to the Presidency where actions have consequences.

Hopefully Trump will learn from this. I would not be surprised if Trump did not learn a lesson, with his "good brain" and all.

do you want to keep calling it out and nothing changes or do you want to acknowledge that military decisions and military intelligence are both a slippery slope and always have been?

Don't get me wrong, attack Trump or whomever but don't use a dead American soldier who thought he died protecting his country. Pick something else.

He didn't make the call. I saw on the news he took an unannounced flight on Marine One to visit family who was receiving their son's dead body.

Probably not. Like any good dictator, he will turn it it into good publicity.

His supporters are already eating it up and talking about how great it is that he's visiting the family while completely ignoring the details of the raid itself.

Come on. We don't even need to waste the effort of typing that anymore. We knew what we were getting, and there will be no learning.

Not like GOP has ever done that. Oh wait Benghazi. Or the Iraq and Afghan wars. GOP members criticized Dems for not supporting our military in an unnecessary war based on false intel. But hey, you do you man.
