1 minute. Any gentleman would abide by the bet. The honorable thing to do would be to live up to the bet he offered. It's a weasel's way out to be wrong and but welch because of one minute or less.
Go to a casino and tell them that even though you lost betting the spread by one point they should still honor it not "welch on the bet". They will laugh you out of the building.
