Never had that bad of an issue with Walmart. Every store is different, there are some really nice ones, and some not so nice ones. Just remember that the not so nice ones are only there because Walmart is the only company with guts to open in shady neighborhoods. It's not like p***y Target who won't open in da hood, of course they can keep their stores clean. Walmart has the guts at least to open 24/7 in the ghetto, that's impressive.

So many elitists in here. Walmart has its place. You won't find the highest quality items from it, but they stock a large variety of items that you can get in a pinch. Price wise, Walmart and Amazon are fairly competitive on items they both carry. If I need it now, I can get it from Wal-mart. If I can wait, I'll shop the convenience of Amazon's delivery service.

People who look down on those who shop at Wal-mart are snobs, in my opinion.

If you're noticing the problems at Walmart, it's possible you could be the problem.

I'm not a regular Walmart shopper, but I won't begrudge anyone for going there. If I had a family, especially little kids, and was trying to make ends meet like a whole lot of people are you can bet your ass I'd be trying to save money on clothes, groceries and whatnot.

I go to the local one 3 or so times a year solely for their outdoors department, which is solid, and beats a 2 hour round trip to Academy in Austin.

I use either now. It just depends on who has the better deal. I don't have prime but usually don't shop on Amazon unless I need multiple items that will reach the free shipping threshold. If I do order from Walmart its always site-to-store. Usually can get stuff pretty quickly but sometimes the person running the site-to-store area is missing and I have to wait for them. Other then that I have no beef with Walmart

Especially for the tons of businesses they have helped close the last 30 years or so. And then everyone helps to subsidize them with Medicaid and Food Stamps.

But you're right not everyone can 8% body fat like me.

You say that as if Amazon is doing wonders for local business.

    Let's just all agree it's:

Amazon - lazy, cheap and easy
    Wal-Mart - cheap and fast

Wal-Mart is now catering to the lazy audience, but the $35 minimum conflicts with their cheap audience.

And yes, neither are good for the local Houston economy,

Amazon is cheap? Most cheap people would scoff at paying $120 a year for a subscription service. Amazon caters to well off people.

I order off Amazon because it's a few dollars cheaper. It used to be no contest, but since they added tax the savings are not as significant. I just use my friends prime accounts. The reason I don't go to the store to buy it is because it costs more time, money, and gas. Unless it's something big then it will cost less. Therefore, it's cheaper. Therefore, it will attract cheap people....and lazy people. I admit I am cheap sometimes and lazy.

Otherwise eBay is cheaper without prime.

Would I pay for prime? No. I would get it from the store or eBay and get more savings and eBay bucks.

Also, there are times when going to the store to buy it is not an option and ordering it on-line is the only way because major retailers like Amazon and Wal-Mart shut down many specialty stores and (Wal-Mart) stopped carrying varieties of items in that category once they did.

Walmart is the downfall of America. It's filled with obese, laid-off factory workers who beat their kids in public with one hand while gripping a 64 oz jug of diabetes-inducing sugary soda in the other hand - all while b****ing about how "them Chinese is taking er jerbs". And at the end of their retail melee, they cap it off by buying $200 worth of plastic crap shipped straight from China, none of which they need.

    I'll stick to Target.

YEARS ago I worked at a newly opened Wal-Mart. Clean, ok enough people. It was in a decent area, probably had a lot to do with it, and motivated management at the beginning. I expected it to be some dark world of dreariness, but other than the typical corporate messages and non-union advocacy, actually one of the better work experiences of my younger years
No kidding. Amazon automation poses 5 times the job killer than even Wal-Mart is.

There's a difference between being lazy and just taking advantage of convenience. Not the same thing at all.

I buy from Amazon knowing I can get better deals elsewhere if I just checked, but it's convenient. I also consider that laziness.

Some people are just addicted to Prime, but I don't need everything in 2 days. Sometimes I want it today, sometimes I can wait a week or two. When the latter happens then price should dictate my next move unless I am just being lazy and I don't want to spend 1-2 extra minutes on the already 5-6 minute buying process.
