In and Out thread got me thinking: hit us with your favorite burger joint (non fast food chain).

I'm partial to Mel's in Tomball.

    +1 for Hubcap Grill

I really like Bernie's as well.

I gotta try out some Killen's.

    Fantastic Cafe on Clinton Drive.

Fuddruckers and Twin Peaks make very good burgers.

Another poster in the other thread already mentioned grilling your own burger at home is the best thing. Put your potatoes in a pan/foil and let the grill smoke it. Let some grease hit it too. If you like onions, bacon, jalapenos, etc, grill all of it.

    Stomp's in Bacliff
The Shack in Cypress (there are two; one real "The Shack" and one fake "The Shack" who I guess changed their name to Shack so as to trick newcomers)
Sam's Burgers Fries & Pies in Memorial
    Tookie's in Seabrook
Aguirre's (Mexican restaurant on highway 6 N with a good burger - and excellent bun; although admittedly the cheap margaritas may have made the burger seem better than it really was)

But of all those, I'd say Stomp's has served me the best burger.

Fielding's or The Republic Grille are my two current favs. Though, when it comes to burgers I'm pretty easy and my favorite spots tend to change quite a bit. I also like Beck's Prime, they have the best chili cheeseburger I've ever tasted.

Every time I go to Fuddruckers and ask for a medium burger...I get well done. This happens every time.

Can someone explain to me how a burger joint can't cook a medium burger on request?

After countless trips, I can count exactly one time I actually got the burger medium. Ridiculous.

It must be policy to cover their doo-doo infested burger meat. Maybe if I ask for it raw next time...I will get medium?
