In a statement issued in response to growing questions about whether Mr. Trump would reverse the Obama order, the White House said the president was proud to embrace gay rights.

“President Trump continues to be respectful and supportive of L.G.B.T.Q. rights, just as he was throughout the election,” the statement said. “The president is proud to have been the first ever G.O.P. nominee to mention the L.G.B.T.Q. community in his nomination acceptance speech, pledging then to protect the community from violence and oppression.”

The decision to keep the order, the statement added, was Mr. Trump’s. It uses stronger language than any Republican president has before in favor of equal legal protections for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people, though that is not likely to quiet Mr. Trump’s critics on the left.

This D&D forum speaks volumes about the current political upheaval in our country right now. Just reading a few topics almost makes me want to throw up due to how divided some of these conversations are. Don't you guys get it?

"Team" politics is a dying bird, it's on the endangered species list. You simply cannot put your party over country or else you end up with people like Biff Tannen (aka Donald Trump) running our country. Stop doing that, stop being so divisive and let's come together and have rational discussion so we don't end up clowning ourselves.

This is our President right now, folks. It's ****ing 2017, time to destroy whatever alarm clock wasn't working for you and wake the hell up. HELLO??? McFly???? Are you there?

    Serious question:

Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked in the head with an iron boot? Of course you don't. No one does. It never happens.

    Sorry, Nook. That's a dumb question....skip that.

I think things would be better if there was more discussion and less debate.

I wish that were the case, but it seems to me to have quite the healthy and self-sustaining population.

Actually it is not so much the posters here that are the problems, what ever the posters here are, they are informed for the most part. It is the over whelming uninformed voters that are the problem, if this country falls, it will be because of uninformed voters.

It's stronger now than ever before. It's the only reason Trump was elected.

I troll...er, post on a Kingwood bbs as a hardcore liberal and any issue I bring up is replied to with either a "he won, GET OVER IT!!!!" or "anything is better than KILLARY!!!!" reply.

That's about as critical as they get wrt anything Trump says or does.

I think in the population there is a very small percentage of folks that care to delve deeply into the issues. I think most folks just want a surface idea, and that's all the interest they have. If things make big news, they'll dig a little deeper.

Yup 70% of the voters do not understand what they are voting for is my view.

Yes, and it is on both sides of politics. Liberal and Conservative voters both are this way.

Indeed.... I hope your family is still doing well and feels safe..... of course they are, why wouldn't they be?

Now......maybe you should be grateful for what you have and that you and yours are safe....

Yes, this is IT! Time for planning is over, must act now. If I was you I'd already have evacuation plans to Canada, Europe, somewhere, anywhere would be better than Fascist America! God speed!

Well, I know you choose to not be grouped in with Trump supporters and other right wingers, but based on positions you post here you are a right winger.

ipa is a member of the Douche wing. Defining characteristics include pretending to be independent, yet consistently coming to the defense of Twitler. Bobby is another prominent member of the D wing.

I'll go against the grain on this IPAMAN issue. IPAMAN is actually a classic Trump supporter even if he "isn't a trump supporter." I don't think many of the white people who have those beliefs (that the left cares more about foreigners than Americans, that white people are excluded from the table because the elite only care about minorities, etc. ) are really right wing, just so happens that right now the right wing plays to that crowd. Their actual beliefs about economics and stuff don't really gel with right wing principles. What the right wing elite didn't realize is that by playing to this crowd they let the party get overrun by those issues. People like Steven Hayes and Bill Kristol are now called "pansies" and "liberals" and "RHINOS" along with Bob Corker and the like.
