Aside from matching salary for Ibaka (e.g. KJ/Brewer etc) and likely giving up a 2017 1st round pick. What "key" player assets would you be ok in parting with to get Ibaka?

    -Capela
    -Harrell
    -Dekker

Trash+1st isn't going to be enough for Ibaka considering there are other teams that could trump that asset package.

(That said, the SAME GM that traded a ton of stuff for Ibaka, is the same GM there NOW...so who knows?)

If you "believe" in Hezonja...and don't believe he has attitude problems and is just in a "bad fit" scenario....you very well might be able to get him just for a 1st round pick.

Ibaka is on a steady decline, stemming back even to his OKC days.

Off rating - Defensive rating by year

    2010 - +8
    2011 - +15
    2012 - +15
    2013 - +16
    2014 - +13
    2015 - +5
    2016 - +3
    2017 - +2

OKC sold at the right time, and now is the wrong time to buy, unless you want Noah 2.0

Ideally, Ibaka is like Nene, IE the guy you want to sign as a occasional rotation big for like 3m.

It will be interesting to see what type of return the Magic get for Ibaka considering he will be a UFA at the end of the year and will be commanding a big salary. I don't think many teams will be offering big asset packages considering it could be "just a rental." That really depresses the value.

I agree that Ibaka's decline is worrisome. It looks like he coasts a lot which is kind of disappointing.

He has to do some thumbs down pose every single time he gets a block

Don't know much about Orlando's locker room situation. What's wrong with Hezonja's attitude??

We should also remember that he wasn't happy in OKC anymore because he was getting as many shots as he wanted...not sure he would be too happy here, the more i think the more i can see him ending up in SacTown...he will get paid, they will give him all the shots he wants...

    It depends on his market.

Right now it is very much a buyers market and teams have been tightening their purse strings.

Rockets just gave big money to a PF.

Free agent to be AND you have to give up significant assets AND you have to re-sign him?

What a dumb trade. Sam Presti plundered Rob Hennigan.

The problem with Serge is he never developed a post game, has no handles and therefore can't take advantage of smaller players on the offensive end. He also does not have a passion for rebounding nor good rebounding instincts. He's on the decline. He's an UFA looking to get paid which puts the Magic in a bad position. Whoever trades for him won't give up much.

When Billy Donovan brought a structured, purposful offense to OKC for the first time, Serge suffered and got exposed. I guess Hennigan didn't notice.

If Nikola Vucevic can be had, the rockets should go after him. His contract is good; he can play the post; he has a good 20 ft jump shot. If he develops a 3 point shot he would be difficult to guard.

There's no way this guy is only 27. He should be in his absolute prime right now if it were true.
