This is absolutely, unequivocally, 100% false. Osweiler didn't just "leave yards on the field." He completely handcuffed this offense for 15 games with his complete incompetence, and inability to throw accurate passes to the right receivers. All the film review in the world won't change his horrible mechanics, and overall feel for the game. Literally ANY of the options that are on the table right now (draft a QB, sign Romo, trade for Jimmy G, start Savage, etc) are significantly better than rolling Osweiler out for another year.
This is very true, but you can't expect many Texans fans to be able to see that right now. With another year of development in the system and better chemistry with the receivers who will hopefully have better and less injury plagued seasons, Savage and Osweiler could look a LOT better next season than they did this season. That said, I won't really be upset at all if they decide to go a different direction....other than Romo, that's just stupid unless he's playing for the league minimum.

Random thought but I keep having this feeling that Hopkins will not get a new contract and he won't be a Texan in the near future.
Well he's under contract this year and can be put on the franchise tag for 2 years after that, so....I think he'll be around. I think the most likely scenario if he doesn't sign a new deal this off-season is where he gets told that he's going to be tagged and then works out a new deal to avoid being under the franchise tag.
They don't like to use it on players who would make a lot less if not tagged but they won't let Nuk walk before using it on him twice meaning he either signs a long term deal here or he's here another 3 years anyway.
That's factually inaccurate. If anything "ruined" him, it was trying to finish out his career elsewhere. It exposed just how little he had left in the tank no matter who was throwing him the passes. Before that, he could always just blame everything on the QB.

We should only draft OL from B10 period. Much higher chance of finding and hitting on NFL OLine talent.
Just watched Jimmy Garoppolo's film from the first 2 games of Brady's suspension and must say I'm truly impressed. New England's O line struggled heavily in that Miami game which eventually led to his injury but from what I've seen this guy looks like the real deal. Tbh I was a little skeptical about him because of our GMs history with a fetish for backup qbs but I saw things in those 2 games I just have never seen from Brock dating back to his days in Denver. This guy is poised and doesn't look scared to ever make a play. He's very agile and is great getting the ball out quickly. I haven't checked his completion percentages but his accuracy passes the eye test. Taking all this into consideration and how New England knows we're a QB away from legitimately competing...I can see them taking nothing less than Clowney and a second. Anyway I know 2 games is a ridiculously small sample size and our chances of actually trading for him are slim to none, but damn would it be nice to finally trust someone to drive us down and score 6 consistently. Whatever happens, I'm just praying the Browns don't pull off this trade.
I would like Jimmy G. He gives us the best Win Now chance, besides maybe Romo (though he's the much better long term acquisition). The problem is that the Browns may very well offer number 12 overall and another pick within the first four rounds for him (unless they go full Browns). I mean, it's what they have to do, right? It's the simple way to turn their franchise around, almost immediately. The question is, are you prepared to offer more? If so, what is more? 25, your second round pick and another second round pick next year? New England knows what it's doing. The Browns story may have been put out by them. In fact, I almost think it was. They're building their trade market. They're going to get some team to trade them a good amount of value for Jimmy. It'll most likely be the 49ers or Browns, with the Texans having an outside shot. Say you decide you're willing to trade for him. Say you give your first round pick, your second round pick, and a future draft pick. How does your fan base react to the trade for another career backup who will transition to the role of The Franchise? It would certainly be funny to see. I think it'd be worth it, to be honest. He's the one last piece. I seriously believe that, though I wouldn't mind a rookie. I just don't feel the Texans have the balls to do it. This front office is not ballsy. I used to think Obrien was, but not so much anymore. Though, it could be his big F U to the front office. I'll just say this... It would fall more in line with the past history than drafting a QB in the first round. To me, it's a safer bet, too.
