Well, Obama's has worked, and we've had no terrorist attacks from refugees. I don't mind a review. But there's no need to stop refugees from entering while reviewing something that hasn't had any problems with it.

Your link says Obama had specific evidence to halt refugee requests. Trump has presented none and is halting all immigration not just refugees. Trump is on record as wanting a Muslim ban and has cultivated this policy to ban Muslims in order to pass legal muster per Rudy Giuliani. There is acting responsibly because you have specific evidence that may require a halt and a review and then there's a white supremacist sympathizer with a neo-Nazi chief strategist implementing a policy that fulfills a white nationalist/supremacist agenda. Repeatedly conservatives dodge the racial angle by claiming it's just illegal immigration they oppose but here they are targeting legal immigrants with trumped up nonsense under the guise of safety.

Yes, yes it is. As several here have done, pointing out how far out there YOU are. That you don't realize it is stereotypical of ...the very problem you are speaking out against. Physician, heal thyself.

And this all started from a simple comment indicating that if something was true that that would indeed be a bad thing. ie, that he was agreeing with the statement. That he is agreeing and STILL getting this vilified shows just how unhinged the left has become...and all just 1 week into it.

If the left isn't careful, they are going to create so much false outrage that they are going to make themselves politically irrelevant. Normally, I wouldn't point this out, preferring to just watch them do it, but they are so obtuse about it that they don't even see what they are doing. It's not accurate to call it a muslim ban, just like it's not accurate to call any and every liberal news story as "fake news". Fox invented fake news, so let's not get started. Don't fall for the sound byte slogans from Trump.

Anyways, what is the ultimate goal? The goal is to make America safer. Does this executive order accomplish that? Let's see the facts.

• There have been no terrorist attacks on US soil from the countries that he banned.
• Most of the terrorists have been born in the US and have been living here for a long time.
• The ban language leaves a lot of arbitrary decisions for people that have been in the US for several years on visas. Very unnecessary.
• Why weren't the countries that have actually been known to breed terrorism (e.g., Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt) included in the list? Trump has businesses in those muslim countries. Conflict of interest.

In the end, he does nothing to actually make America safer with that executive order. If anything, it fuels anti-American rhetoric and hurts the cooperation we can get from the muslim countries against ISIS.

 

We are mostly politically irrelevant right now. I hope all our friends on the right side of the aisle, or some of them, can watch out for a steady scapegoating of the left, as the new executive branch pushes us further and further from our national identity -- i.e. ignoring court orders, handcuffing people with green cards and asking them for their views on Trump, etc, etc., insulting Mexico one day and Jews the next. On and on.

If you care about some of these things, call your congressional rep.

 

Oh, no offense taken at all. To me it's just strategy. Insulting someone's degree of education can only accomplish one of three things and maybe two at once:
* Make an educated person feel insulted and definitely be less likely to listen to you, ever.
* Make a person with less education feel insulted and even shamed by a "smug liberal."
And while you may not care about those options...
* Meanwhile, make fence-sitting lurking posters who have doubts about Trump just side against smug liberals and ignore the crap that is actually happening.

She is specifically referencing Muslims, and she is referring to Trump's specific reference to Muslims during his campaign.

Trump from day 1 wasn't my first choice, and I'll watch his actions carefully. But it won't stop me from pointing out the pure hypocrisy I see manifested in this forum every...single...day.

Meanwhile, doubling down on hysteria, outrage, fringe causes, etc is a pretty stupid strategy for a party that has...by your own admission... become poltically irrelevant. How do you all think you got to be politically irrelevant anyways? (not directed at you specifically B-bob but the far left)
