exactly my point, where are the americans rioters, protesters, shutting down airports and roads demanding he take care of our own first?

nothing moves the needle like fighting for non-American, alien, Muslim refugees. Mohamed would be proud.

I'm sick to my stomach. This policy is morally evil. Children will die because of this. Families will be ripped apart. Innocent people, fleeing the very same terror that this policy seeks to prevent, will be forced to live in fear. And it was enacted on Holocaust Remembrance Day of all days.

I'm just sick to my stomach. It's illegal, unconstitutional, and immoral.

Trump voters, who heard this rhetoric and decided that your tax breaks were more important, this blood is on your hands.

Stein voters, who thought Clinton wasn't liberal enough for your vote, this blood is on your hands.

Johnson voters, who thought the government shouldn't be making value judgments on our lives, this blood is on your hands.

If you stayed home because "both candidates are bad", this blood is on your hands.

For the first time, I'm not proud to be from this country. I'm ashamed.

People tend to protect actions that are wrong (as they are in this case). Perhaps you should be asking the question, instead of doing this, why isn't he standing up for our military veterans? Why aren't members of his own party advising him to do that?

Because vets and homeless don't vote and those bastards only care, always have, about folks who vote. They're part of the problem but "WE" don't hold a gun to their head about it like we do about other seemingly random things.

I remember when li'l t supported giving a UAE-based company operational control of our ports because Bush wanted to do it. Now he wants to keep people out of the country that put their lives on the line to support our troops because Trump wants to do it. Telling.

Read the whole thread. It's illuminating.

The line quoting people's overreaction (which is now, essentially the opposite "overreaction") reads on a very parallel realm to the whole Mike Pence twitter quote-gate thing.

I love the extreme vetting system that will be impacted. No jihadis allowed!

a 120 day freeze on refugees and a 90 day freeze on entry from jihadi controlled areas to review policies is perfectly reasonable

my only issue with the EO is if it is being applied to green card holders; they've already been vetted and it would seem to be extremely disruptive

With a broad of enough brush, anyone could be a 'jihadi'.

Trump’s Order Blocks Immigrants at Airports, Stoking Fear Around Globe

By MICHAEL D. SHEAR and NICHOLAS KULISH
    JANUARY 28, 2017

WASHINGTON — President Trump’s executive order on immigration quickly reverberated through the United States and across the globe on Saturday, slamming the border shut for an Iranian scientist headed to a lab in Boston, an Iraqi who had worked for a decade as an interpreter for the United States Army, and a Syrian refugee family headed to a new life in Ohio, among countless others.

Around the nation, security officers at major international gateways had new rules to follow, though the application of the order appeared uneven. Humanitarian organizations scrambled to cancel long-planned programs, delivering the bad news to families who were about to travel. Refugees who were on flights when the order was signed were detained at airports.

“We’ve gotten reports of people being detained all over the country,” said Becca Heller, the director of the International Refugee Assistance Project. “They’re literally pouring in by the minute.”

There were numerous reports of students attending American universities who were blocked from returning to the United States from visits abroad. One student said in a Twitter post that he would be unable to study at Yale. Another who attends the Massachusetts Institute of Technology was refused permission to board a plane. A Sudanese student at Stanford University was blocked for hours from returning to California.

Human rights groups reported that legal permanent residents of the United States who hold green cards were being stopped in foreign airports as they sought to return from funerals, vacations or study abroad...

Trump's a better business man than I gave him credit for.

There will be Trump real estate holdings in some of these countries before the year is up!

Yes, but do you think people like RocketsLegend have anything to say about that? Of course not.

"President Donald Trump to publish weekly list of crimes committed by immigrants
Republican plans to publicise 'criminal actions committed by aliens' and crack down on 'sanctuary' cities that protect migrants from being deported"

"Donald Trump has ordered his new administration to publish a weekly list of crimes committed by immigrants."

“make public a comprehensive list of criminal actions committed by aliens” in the US.
