At least now they have an excuse, but I won't be on board till they have a legitimate reason. Putting a temporary ban on immigration from a few countries isn't a legitimate reason.
yes they can. They can pass bills to limit the power of the executive branch. Republicans would support it (its like talking to a brick wall....) . OK. I view the value of these protests to be, in part, preemptive. I am not, myself, strongly disturbed by this temporary ban either, but I do think there is a threat of much worse -- some of which you yourself noted before the election was over. If there isn't a vocal opposition from ordinary people, and its only coming from politicians in Washington or the media, then its easy to dismiss the "corrupt" opposition and push the really objectionable things he campaigned on through.

I think the worst thing is that there is so much crying wolf right now that no one will believe it if a legitimate civil rights abuse incident happens. It's why you don't protest just for the hell of it. Every time you protest without legitimate cause, it cheapens the action. At some point it becomes worthless.

From what I've read they can apply for a waiver to the travel ban and they'll get processed into the country. I see the whole thing as unnecessary and pointless but the constitution isn't being pissed on and no one is being deprived of their civil rights. Also, it's not a "Muslim ban", that kind of irresponsible rhetoric needs to stop.

Yes it is. Not excusing and giving a pass to the Admin here. Government can do a proper job and have done so plenty. This was a voluntary induced cluster**** by the Admin. On a related note -- the State Dept has no experience senior members and is lead by someone that never worked in the government, which is lead by you know who... yes, it's draining the swamp, but what else does it mean - the chances of cluster**** like this increases drastically while they go through a learning curve.

So the individuals here who are legal residents who have slide here who just happened to be visiting their home country at the time are ****ed? What about the multiple examples that already have formed into reality where a US resident who is a citizen of one of those nations have to cancel all travel plans to even a place like Canada indefinitely because they can't re-enter.
