Absolutely- and it was terrible and they should have protested against that. Doesn't excuse this one bit. Besides, you're going to equate Obama's responsibility in this to what Trump has done? Yes, Obama is directly to blame for this: "The U.S. soldiers who executed the airstrikes did not know they were striking a hospital, Campbell said. Instead, they believed they were targeting a different building that is actually hundreds of meters away. But the military’s investigation found that both the personnel who called in the airstrikes and those who dropped the bombs “did not undertake the appropriate measures to verify that the facility was a legitimate target.”
Wasn't 100% sure about the culpability aspect. So, Obama's role in this is equal to Trump's immigration ban E.O., correct? That is what you're saying?
So what? I'm still not seeing why this is such a big deal? Access to travel to the US isn't a right.....you do know that correct? If certain countries get put on time out due to craziness in their country then that's not a big deal.
Why do you think they are related? Can't you bring yourself to the wrongness of the current topic? Seems you believe changing the subject makes Trump's actions less wrong. "The announcement was met with immediate backlash from leaders of nearly every Christian denomination, along with those of other faiths. They argue that Trump’s actions do not reflect the teachings of the Bible, nor the traditions of the United States, and they have urged the president to let them get back to work—many of the country’s most prominent refugee resettlement organizations are faith-based."
... and meanwhile, it the land of "alternate facts", Trump says the immigration ban is working "nicely"...
I am not saying you said this. It started with RL: "why didn't they protest the bombing???" I said, give facts, you did. Fine. Point made. So, in response to RL's question, "Why didn't the protest the bombing?" - the answer would be, "Well, who exactly would they protest against?" For this immigration ban, it's simple. The one who signed the Executive Order (BTW, how come it's OK to sign Executive Orders all of a sudden? I thought this was Obama's equivalent to being a dictator? Are we OK with this now?)
Because it's fake outrage. It's hypocrisy. If Obama had ordered this no one would bat an eye. Oh wait obama did do the same exact thing and did it for longer period of time http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/201...refugees-6-months-2011-liberals-said-nothing/
If you stupid liberals really wanted to stop trump, you would put forth policies that reduce the power of the executive branch. Republicans would support it (see them trying to pass the Reins Act?). Instead you do this silly protesting that nobody is compelled by that will be forgotten in 2 weeks. Spoiler Also I'm stile waiting to hear how Trump is 'pissing on the Constitution' like Realist claims
Nice way to start a recommendation. Trump discredit himself. Only stupid don't see it. It's just too bad that there are so many stupids.
It worked nicely for 12 whole hours (during which there were no terrorist attacks by the way...tremendously effective)...until a horrible judge blocked it, what a disaster. I predict mean tweets heading in EDNY's direction followed by a week of stern editorials about separation of powers. This is what happens with Trump, who is not a legitimate President
fake outrage? BS. Hypocrisy, BS. Obama temporarily banned people from a country. He did not temporarily ban Muslims, nor favor Christians and other minority religions.
This is funny seeing how the GOPs entire plan during Obama's 8 years were to just discredit him. Any ways, I don't get the big deal about protesting and why so many people are whining about them. I guess they need their safe space as they realize not everyone is that excited about some of the things Trump wants to do with the country.
Republicans had no way of stopping him. Democrats do. Like i said, Republicans want to restrict the power of the executive branch. They are a nuisance to everyone at that airport. Liberals aren't mature enough to know how to properly protest with breaking property, committing violence, committing crimes, etc.... This has been shown in every protest they have ever done.
So, the democrats have a way of stopping all the executive orders that Trump has done so far? You just gave an excuse as to why it's fine for the GOP to discredit Obama but not cool for the Democrats. Discrediting a politician and his policies is basic politics. Except, nah. It hasn't. The women's march for instance.
The policies he wants to enact are (arguably) morally wrong and dangerous -- I assume that what's you mean when you call him a scumbag. My point is you now arguing that people shouldn't engage in protests against these policies seems inconsistent with that view.
This is not a religious ban, it's a regional ban. The top 5 Muslim populated country is not on the list. Christians are being slaughtered and are far less likely to commit act of terror in the United States.
