Yeah, he sure did. He had a chance at 50 for a couple of possessions where hell, I wanted him to chase it, but instead he made the right pass.

The defense is partly designed to have Harden in the front court...if you haven't noticed. They like to switch to keep Harden near the baseline or covering weakside corner. Three reasons: Best for the defense to hide him, if you can, he's a better rebounder than players he guards, and for fastbreaks. If you can, it is best just to have your fastbreak leader get the ball as soon as possible vs trying to pass it to him.

This is by design for both his rebounding abilities (that big butt) and to improve the fastbreak.

Two 50 point triple doubles in a career is just insane. Two in 28 days? There should be press conferences about this.

I remember when I used to get excited when it looked like Francis was going to score 30 points. Now, if Harden looks like he isn't going to score 30 points I'm like, "Man, Harden is having an off night." And if he isn't somewhere in the neighborhood of a triple double? Again, "This is an off night for Harden."

That's how good he is. I am starting to consider less than a triple double with 30 points a disappointment. Future Rockets guards will have to hear how they will never measure up to this man the way Rockets big men have been told for decades that they'll never match Hakeem. I don't know how far the Rockets can go in the playoffs with super teams like the Warriors and the Spurs out there, but I do know we're extremely fortunate to be witnessing this incredibly rare and special player.

 

5 TO's, unacceptable. When is MDA going to have this talk with Harden? It's getting out of hand, he's shooting 45% from the field and we've lost 15 games already.

On a serious note, we turned it over 23 times and none of these haters even mentioned that. Shows how much they are interested in bashing Harden more than actually playing winning basketball as a team.

 

Just pointing out something that apparently is not obvious to most: We hear @Swapshop-style criticism of Harden and WB all the time accusing them of stealing rebounds from their bigs.

I don't know about WB, but with Harden, when you like to fastbreak, if you can, it is best to let the guard rebound the ball for quicker attacks. A lot of people believe only bigs should rebound and outlet while all guards should release ... even the PG. It's historically the other way around. It is best to let the PG grab the board (if it otherwise doesn't matter) and the big release.
