We are 11-11 against teams with winning records. We are 23-4 against the rest of the league. We are 22-3 when Eric Gordon shoots 40% from 3. We are 12-12 when Eric Gordon shoots below 40% or misses the game entirely. Eric Gordon's 3-point percentage split in wins and losses is insane. Basically if he shoots poorly we lose.....period. We are 11-4 when Capela doesn't play. We are 23-11 when Capela plays. (Capela is a non-factor.) We are 15-1 when we hold our opponents below 47% from two-point range. This includes a record of 4-1 against teams with a winning record. We are 19-14 when our opponent shoots above 47% from two-point range. This includes a record of 7-10 against teams with a winning record. If you could break this down further you would find a huge disparity between our opponents percentage at the rim in wins and losses. This speaks further to the huge hole we have in the middle that Capela/Harrell cannot fill adequately. We are 6-10 when our opponents shoot better than us from two point range and 2-7 against teams with winning records that shoot better than us from two-point range. Once again this speaks to our porous defense and rim protection since we take the least amount of long two's in the Association. In these games the opponent is finishing better than us. (Again Capela is not the answer. He's part of the problem.)
Some great stuff here _holic. Further prooves how porous our interior defense is. I have been clamoring for a quality veteran big for a while (Tyson Chandler). even though I like capela I think he still needs to learn and grow, he was off to a good start but the injury messed up his learning curve. Our interior is a turnstile especially against teams who have players who specialize in drives, Isiah Thomas.
Would love to have him in this roster. But........Harden DOES NOT like him and doesn't want to play with him. Just another example of Hardens lack of maturity and humility. He won't accept what the team needs to maximize our championship opportunity. I'd be shocked if we brought Smoove back. It's simply not going to happen unless Harden has a change of heart.
_holic, can you complete the list of who Harden likes and dislikes? Harden likes: Bobby Brown Tyler Anus Trevor Ariza Pat Bev . . . . Harden dislikes: Howard DMo Jerry Lin Josh Smith . . . .
Harden doesn't like Blake. Most people don't know that. Doesnt like Wes Matthews. Nor Klay. Does like Dame. There's a few.
We really gotta look at our schedule. The fact that we've been all over the place kinda shows up in our focus. People loosing their man. NO COMMUNICATION. Just plain tired period.
Stats like this are common for NBA teams between Wins and Losses I mean, here is the Spurs (who are better than us) 110.1 pts on 49.5% during wins 97.6 pts on 42.8% during losses (worse than the Rockets) 43% on 22.3 3pt attempts during wins 34% on 23.2 3s during losses SAS gives up 32.1% on 24.6 3pt attempts in losses SAS gives up 41.1% on 23.6 3pt attempts in losses I mean, we can sit here and analyze Wins v Loss splits and say, see at least SAS makes 34% of their 3s in losses, but actually SAS is 6-5 when shooting less than 33% and we are 8-7...not much of a difference. I don't find these W/L splits regarding shooting % to be that telling, other than I'd expect the Rockets to actually have more losses in 33% games. But they don't, because the key seems to be how many they make vs their %, which is what I look it, since MDA keeps talking about total makes vs % Rockets are 32-9 when they make 11 or more 3s, regardless of %. They are 8-3 in those games even when shooting 33% or less. They are 2-6 when making 10 or less. That's only 8 games out of 49. When Gordon "shoots poorly" Do we lose "...period" or are we a .500 team? And to add to your list Rockets are: 18-3 when Ariza shoots >= 40% 18-3 when Harden shoots >= 40% 20-7 when Ryno shoots >= 40% 11-4 when Ryno shoots <= 33% Rather than saying Rockets are a .500 team when Gordon doesn't shoot 40%, maybe the more interesting thing is to say Rockets can win whether Ryno shoots well or not. Then again, it's not a % thing, it seems, as I posted above. Seems to be a volume thing as MDA keeps stating. Rockets are 32-9 when they make 11 or more 3s. They are 8-3 in those games even when shooting 33% or less.
Very interesting. I've heard them say an arbitrary number of 15 in relation to turnovers. I wonder if they (morey) have a formula of hard numbers rather than %s But thanks heyP
What Dwight was originally meant to do in Houston. Too bad he lacked the height and skill to be a truly scary 1 on 1 post player.
