Why are most people talking about defense in this thread? If Harden was yelling at Dekker about not passing, it had to be about offense.

Dekker does make mistakes. Mistakes that are to be expected since this is his first year to play. And usually a teams best player would have every right to give constructive criticism during a game. But, unfortunately Harden just isn't someone that should be correcting anyone. Often Harden is seen standing flat footed on defense while his teammates are left trying to make up for his laziness. I don't blame Dekker or any other Rocket not appreciating a tongue lashing from Harden.

Until Harden decides to pull his weight on defense, he will never be the leader he wants to be and the leader this teams needs.

Agree with this 100%! I was at the game watching first hand how hard Sam Dekker was playing and how lazy James Harden was playing. James Harden has been playing lazy/tired for the better part of the last 3 weeks. I was telling my friend that if Houston wins this game that Dekker is the player of the game. The Boston fans had a lot of respect for Dekker and he is just starting to really get his confidence as a player. James Harden needs to help his confidence grow with leadership not try to contain it. In a year from now he my be our second best player.

A side thought if James Harden does not want Dekker on the team another James in Cleveland my welcome him. Lebron clearly would prefer a Carmelo, but an up and coming player who believes in his game and wants to relieve the star player of playing so many minutes is the type of player you want to keep.

James is the leader of this team. But at times his play is SO lackadaisical & sloppy, he should not be publicly calling out anybody. You can't be yelling at your teammates at the same time throwing that stupid no look pocket pass for a turnover. Most of the turnovers Harden commits aren't even forced. Dekker probably brought this up like "hey man, don't be yelling at me when you can't even make a simple pass"

Go back and watch the game, harden was rotating but didn't make an effort to put a body on anyone even on fast break....James buddy it's fine if you finish a game with 4 fouls sometimes...

You should have seen the GARM a year ago

Last season was essentially daily Harden crucifying. This thread is nostalgic.

That is a stretch... beside don't you WANT Harden mad and frustrated when we lose or he plays poorly? He always responds to adversity. What he does is extremely common. Whether it is Magic saying "Give me the ******* ball." .... Jordan saying "Shut the **** up and defend", Bird calling McHale useless, Olajuwon punching Cassell.... Kobe constantly going off on his teammates... the list goes on and on.

What this really sounds like are posters that didn't like Harden before but had to shut up because Harden was the best player in the NBA. The Rockets and Harden hit a tough two week stretch and it is open season.

    Just pathetic.

Yeah.... except when James went off on Mario Chalmers numerous times, or Kyrie Irving or Tristan Thompson.

Harden was right to put the Sammy D in his place. I would take the words of the franchise superstar over anyone.

Harden has Maury by the balls too. Sammy D got nothing on this.

    End of.

Wait... I think I may have missed the latest shift. We're back to saying that Harden is a lazy turnover machine that doesn't play defense? When did all the MVP talk fall by the wayside?

    Fickle, fickle, fickle...

I think it's also a bit of a stretch to put harden in the company you are putting him in. (bird, magic, mchale, kobe) the thing that is separating them most? jewelry. Rings are what turn a-holes into "tough leaders". Rings are what allow guys to go off like that and not receive criticism from fans.

You don't buy that it is rings? ok how about consistent deep playoff success. The closest thing harden has had to that was harden having to get benched so his team could make the WCF. That doesn't exactly put him in the company you are putting him with either.

Are there a lot of Harden critics? yes.

is he somehow immune from fan criticism? no.

And tbh you didn't address the main point of my post. Harden was awful last night...if anything the team should have been yelling at him!

Stuff like this happens a lot on a team, complete non-issue.

Every thing will be alright when Gordon finds his shot again. That's been the biggest difference more than anything. Gordon was playing like an all-star player and his 3 pointer can't be found for nearly the entire month.
