    The DNC held a forum for candidates hoping to become chairman of the Democratic National Committee on Monday at George Washington University. One candidate, Sally Boynton Brown, the executive director of Idaho's Democratic Party, urged Democrats to provide "training" to teach people to be "sensitive" and "how to shut their mouths if they are white."

    "My job is to shut other white people down when they want to interrupt," Brown said.

    My job is to listen and be a voice and shut other white people down when they want to interrupt...

    We pull people in and they are volunteers. They don’t know anything and then we send them out to have conversations with people, hard conversations. We promote them to chair of a party where they have power and they have no clue what they are doing. We have to, at the DNC, provide training. We have to teach them how to communicate, how to be sensitive and how to shut their mouths if they are white. So I think I made my point.

    They should. But apparently she is in serious consideration for DNC chair.

    This isn't some flunkie marching outside the DNC with purple hair, blazed out of her mind. This is a supposedly serious candidate for the DNC advocating shutting out 2/3's of the country from even talking about one of the major issues in this country right now. And the people in that audience (and others behind her on stage) were cheering her on like she scored at touchdown at the Super Bowl.

    If you watch the video she's talking about listening to black people about issues affecting them and to shut down white people when they interrupt because they're not listening. So... *triggered*

    I can't wait to see this shared on Facebook fifty eight million times as evidence that... white people hate white people. o_O

    Democrats think they don't need the white voters. Keep alienating themselves the white middle and lower class. In the words of great Bernie Sanders," when you're white you don't know what it's like to be poor"

    First, I don't even know your race.

    Second, even if I did, I don't do that. Individual experience is interesting but at the end of the day, your individual experiences don't speak for all people of your race any more than mine does for mine. And it also tends to lead to an emotional response rather than thoughtful dialogue.

    But I can see with your argument here that you seem to support the idea that whites have nothing to add to the discussion on race. Whites should just STFU ...do I have that about right?

    Always laughable the extent that wingnuts will go to spin their own racist thinking. "She is seriously being considered...". LOL. And misconstruing what she said anyway. You guys should instead spend your time focusing on denying people their voting rights.

    This + what CometsWin said lead me to believe this is more about not being smart with words, then a race (hating white) issue.

    I don't care much for overly political correctness myself, but you got to be a bit aware of what comes out of your mouth when you want to be a leader, especially political.

    What non-bonehead argument leads to telling whites to STFU being good for bringing those votes back???

    Personally, I hope she wins the chair. Democrats should be scared to death of that, but many (most?) aren't, thus both explaining the above, and helping it continue.

    She wasn't directing that at Trump, or even leaders. She was directing it at all whites.

    FWIW, if she had phrased it the way you did, though, we wouldn't be having this discussion. Her phraseology though essentially implied censorship, and that whites simply have no right to speak. For any who support this statement...would you support it if she inserted some color other than white? If not...why not?

    I don't think that's the case. There isn't any room for hate in leadership in my book. Not aware of your words and its impact is much less of an issue, but it is still an issue in leadership. This isn't about race IMO, so yes if the situation is reversed, I would have the same thought.

    No, she was directing it at whites that interrupt and don't listen. I don't think that's all whites.
