In the days of slavery, it was a common belief among whites that blacks did not have the physical capacity to be educated (i.e., blacks were considered livestock). It was people like Frederick Douglass who showed that blacks were perfectly capable of being educated, intelligent, eloquent people. He didn't accomplish that by punching people in the face. He did it by demonstrating to people that blacks are capable of intellectual achievement. For a white supremacist who hates black people, a sucker-punch to the face only fuels the hatred, incites sympathy for the punched person, and inspires others to understand and agree with his hatred. Actions like this only fuel the fire. They don't extinguish it.
Not that they have ever needed it, but this violence ( sucker punching ), no matter who is doing it, becomes the justification for the violence against hated groups these nazis and white supremacists desire.
About 80 years ago we tried to sit down and talk with them, that didn't work, punching is now required. No need to rehash the failed talking strategy. ALT - HUG ! DD
