I worry more about teams on a 5 game losing streak than teams on a 5 game winning streak. People getting hungry and desperate go to work and people getting happy and content get fat and lazy.
Damn, the All-Star break feels like a million years away with this brutal schedule. Our dudes are TIRED.
for me the biggest takeaway from this game is rynos dribble drive penetration... hes expanding/unlocking his arsenal gradually...wow if he were able to use it from the beggining of the year... what could have been
I blame the schedule for some of our issues, but I feel like whatever magic was there in December has mysteriously disappeared.
Team isn't hitting 3's as much. Team isn't defending as much. Simple as that. I agree it's very schedule-related. I'll change this opinion if it persists past the all star break.
Face it: this game is what many expected before the season. Probably little need to over analyze. Rockets shoot 50% and 40% from three (40% @J Sizzle ), but lose to a team shooting 58% and 47% from three. It's tough to win the rebounding battle when the opponent only misses 33 shots. insert "114 -127 Are you not entertained" gif Well, GSW and CLE lost last night, too.
@heypartner true. Last night was definitely not about our shooting. Just couldn't catch a break defensively.
There are some losses where I felt like the Rockets lost because they were missing a player. Like man, if the Rockets could have had one more big rebounder on the roster or 1 more 3D shooter etc. But this game, was more about poor consistent effort. Too many defensive breakdowns and too many turnovers. And some bad luck cold shooting spots. Frustrating. I look forward to seeing the Rockets response against Boston.
What inferior non 99ers don't realize is that , this is ok. Do they want us to be the Warriors and win a billion games so we can choke in the Finals like last year? I'm fine with the 1-4 seeds. the NBA season is long. And those like us who have seen many of them understand that. that's why we rule
Take out these few things and a loss bothers me a lot less: - Brewer playing...at all. - Ryan/Ego laying goose eggs at the exact same time. - unnecessary cross-court passes - Harden's between the legs of two defenders bounce pass to a cutting teammate that works less than 1% of the time. - Ennis playing... - generally other careless turnovers. We seem to have offensive lulls and hardcore defensive lapses at the EXACT same time. If we could focus in on defense when we're missing, it would do wonders for us. Instead we give up huge leads or go down huge due to these ridiculous droughts. I really do think were 2 players away from something really special (take out Brewer, Ennis and probably Nene in the future), but the way were structured... any injury can show some definite weakness. Our bench looks great when were healthy, and I hope Dekker finds a consistent stride. Anderson and Ego need to get on it, we cant have them both struggling to shoot or every night will be hell.
